Chapter 4 by Zeebop Zeebop

Who does Sue Storm name?

Namor

That dark hair. The burning blue eyes. The chiseled cheeks and arching eyebrows, so strong, masculine, slightly exotic. He rose from the sea as if he was a part of it, which of course he was. Sue Storm's heart sank as she recognized him. Immediate guilt and regret filled her, made her body tense up.

"Namor," she whispered.

The Atlantean had long made his attraction to Sue clear. He had let her tell him no. She had said no, so many times. Yet people talked. Sue knew. Even Reed had his suspicions. Even though they had never done anything. Sue had never cheated on her husband, even given the opportunity. And there had been opportunities. But here he was. Haunting her mind.

"How do you feel about that?" Dr. Stone said. With her eyes closed, the Invisible Woman couldn't see the slight luminescent aura around Moonstone's head as she used her enhanced powers to lower Sue's inhibitions.

"Tired. Sick. Guilty," Sue said. "Everybody thinks I fucked him, and I never have!"

The swear word almost shook Sue out of her trance. She rarely used such language. It had never been natural to her to be crude, and with the kids and her image she had worked hard to maintain a clean, respectable image. Had watched her language, her attire, her whole life. She wasn't one of those mothers who could exactly slip out for a quiet drink with the girls and leave the kids to watch television. Nor could she spread her legs for every ripped superhero that walked out of the ocean wearing nothing but a speedo, his little ankle-wings humming as they flapped.

"So you never did anything with him?" Dr. Stone pressed. "Not once?"

"He kissed me. I didn't kiss him back," Sue insisted, she sighed. "All these years and Reed still brings it up, when we fight. It's not like Reed is possessive, but he just...I don't know. He expects me to be so perfect, and always reminds me of the one time he thought I wasn't."

"Was it just one time, though?" Dr. Stone's voice was soft, mellifluous. Sue found herself sink deeper into the chair, the tension eased. "Has Reed ever had any other suspicions? You've been captured many times. Doctor Doom, Blastaar, the Skrulls..."

The Invisible Woman thought about it. In truth, now that she thought back over the course of their relationship, there had been little flairs of jealousy from Reed now and then. He had always pressed her, after she was rescued or had escaped, what had happened. Whether she was okay. If any of them had...touched her.

Some had. Sue had never been assaulted, thankfully, but there had been a few attempts at violating that unspoken boundary. Most villains didn't dare to even tip-toe near that line, but the really degenerate ones, they had threatened it. Sue well remembered the Skrulls, especially. They had talked about harvesting her eggs, her DNA. To see how the human reproductive system worked. That had been a dark day.

Even as Sue thought that, without realizing it, she spoke those thoughts out loud. It was as if her internal filter had been turned off.

"Have you considered perhaps that Reed...wanted to hear more?" Dr. Stone said.

"What!?" Sue's brow furrowed. Her head drooped.

"Cuckold fetish is relatively common among powerful men," Dr. Stone pressed. "Has his comforting ever led to sex? Has he ever gotten excited when you told him about these sexual threats?"

"I...maybe..." Sue felt confused. She seemed to review her memories from a new angle. Unsure whether Reed had been showing innocent concern or if there had been a more carnal intent behind his kind words, his soft and reassuring touch. Other women would never know what it was like when Reed stretched and just wrapped himself around her like a cocoon, or the bandages of a mummy. The warm heat of his soft body tightly clutched all around her. Better than any weighted blanket. Sue had lost track of how many times she had fallen asleep in his arms, just like that.

"Maybe that's a way you could deal with this source of stress," Dr. Stone said. "By exploring this interest, either by yourself or with your husband."

"Maybe..." Sue said, and the seed of the idea was planted in her mind. Moonstone smiled. She relaxed, and the luminescent aura receded.

"Open your eyes, Sue. It's time to talk about this seriously."

How does Dr. Stone suggest Sue Storm deal with her thoughts of Namor?
