Mutual Goals
Nyitzcha took one look before realizing their elven trait, the pointed ears, and turning around in a huff. Janette stood kneeling by Felix, his arm in her hands amd her eyes focused on the company they had present in front. Okay so, two elves and a Grizzly Girl in the jungle meet a dwarf, her slave husband and a business girl, this was the start of a really bad joke. Hopefully this had a pleasant ending to it, the large bear had a creepy smile on her face, accompanied by her immense intimidating size and closed eyes, heck she even had a bit of red to her face. Her smile was adorable, but she was not, if that made sense.
She's large, and maybe some people are into that, but having her standing up and giving the impression that she could cast a shadow over you was anything but a turn on to her. I guess I can disregard fear as a kink from the list.
Felix on the other hand, was still recovering from his hand, having a hand on- you know what, forget it. Dumb line, moving on. He was less scared and more shocked by the absence of terror in his eyes, or perhaps he was still preoccupied from just having his arm popped into his socket a moment ago. The shorter elf, he had nice brown hair that was down to his chin in length, it looked natural and flowed well in the wind, it looked so pretty that it would make any girl jealous. Kneeling down, he pulled a hidden knife from his waist and held it over Felix's arm. Janette grabbed the elf's hand by instinct, keeping it away to which the female elf went for her own knife. The male elf raised his hand, keeping everyone at ease and gently raising the blade higher in front of them both.
"It's alright, I don't mean no harm. Just wanted to check for bruising. M-May I?" Without the mask, his voice was so sincere and innocent, almost charismatic in a way. She wouldn't call him a womanizer, but he definitely carried a gentle spirit inside that touched her. She nodded, still keeping alert but for the moment Felix was not complaining either and Nyitzcha had kept herself quiet with her back turned.
"Forgive the intrusion, my name is Spi'Reto. You may call me Spi for short, my mother always does."
As he spoke, he wove the blade around the cloth with such gentle care and accuracy, slicing the sleeve off and pulling it away. The arm was bare and exposed, with no apparent sign of damage aside from bruising. Actually, there was a large red mark around where his arm was disjointed, which seemed to alarm the female elf.
"Internal bleeding, hold him still." She demanded, exposing her own knife. Felix and Janette scooted back, with Janette choosing to guard him and stand in front. She shook her head no.
"This isn't internal bleeding, just rough bruising. The vines must have had a tight grip around him if it pulled to that extent. Now back off."
Nyitzcha could not contain herself, giggling much to the show Janette displayed and scorn the woman in return. "Dumb elf wouldn't know, no use speakin' to a gal who lives 'er life 'n da woods like so!"
"Careful. That's my Mother you're speaking to." Spi mentioned, standing up to her defense. "I wouldn't back talk to a skilled archer like her. She could shoot you from a mile away."
Felix looked around and motioned for Janette to help him on his feet. Nyitzcha had turned to face the two elves, frowning at the ruins of her carriage.
"Fat lot o' good she is for a good shot, what good is 'er aim if she ain' got da brains to show! What were ye plannin' fer, ambushin' us like dat! You lot owe me for my damages, dat cart s'not cheap! 'N I expect coin, not shrooms." She snickered.
The female elf did not take this lightly, marching towards the tiny woman.
"You people were trespassing, one of my people alerted me that a trio barged in and slept at our village as if they belonged."
"Mother."
"So ye think it right to shoot me down an' kill me for nappin' where I can? What did I tell ya, d'ese tree huggers ain't got nothin' upstairs, been smokin' too much nature for ye."
"Nyitzcha." Felix reached out, only to be interrupted.
"I don't negotiate with half-sized half-wits."
"An' I don't talk to pea-brained frog lickers."
"RRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!"
Everyone had covered their ears, eyes shut as the entire jungle grew quiet just then. Coughing, Nukka rubbed her throat and tilted her head, making a face as she swallowed.
"Ack, sore throat. Everyone was taking turns making noise and she didn't want to lose. Did we win?" She cheered, looking around with an ecstatic look on her face. Everyone else looked either confused or annoyed, which made her tiny round ears atop her head fold. "No? Darn, she hates loosing."
Janette looked over to the two elves, with Spi looking a bit embarrassed.
"Any-who, haii! Everyone is so quiet now so, she better say something. No, you say something first, no you first! Okay fine, she goes first." She muttered, stepping forward on all fours and approaching Felix with surreal speed for her size. They were nearly touching noses as he felt himself back up into a tree. "Hai, she's Nukka! Want to be her friend?"
"Uhhhh-?"
"No wait! Do you have stings?" She looked around, glancing at Janette and Nyitzcha.
Nyitzcha scoffed. "Only thing we salvaged is a barrel of rum, ay."
"Is rum bad?" Nukka asked, looking back at her two companions. The elf sighed while her son giggled.
"I don't think so." He answered back, which lit up her mood.
"Yay!" She turned back and happily licked Felix up and down, slobbering all around his neck and face. He flinched and moved around, pushing her back only for her to lift his weight, his feet dangling as she continued greeting him in her own way.
"Blegh!"
"Nukka, Nukka stop haha." Spi tugged at her fur, amused as she pulled back and wiped her face. Felix was covered in saliva, and even Janette found herself cracking a smile. "That's-That's, they get the point. Look, don't listen to what my Mother said, we actually reached out due to her request."
"Her?" Janette asked, looking at the elf.
"No no sorry, I was referring to-"
"Her!" Nukka beamed, wiggling her ears. "She saw big box on circles moving through just like that one! Only bigger, and white-r, and different."
"White-r?" Felix repeated, cleaning his face. "Sounds like what we're following."
"Ooooh, you see them too! Tell me the circles are magic!" She whispered.
Spi clapped his hands together. "Splendid, I believe this was all a misunderstanding. You see, we're-"
"You're after the preacher guy too?" Janette cut through, crossing her arms. Huh, mutual goals I guess.
"Erh, not quite." Nevermind. "She is."
Oh? He pointed at the Grizzly who nodded. "He took her friends, and now Nukka misses them lots! She took her daughter too, took them when Nukka was lost looking for her tail. Couldn't find it, lousy thing." She whined, sitting down and still taller than everyone else.
"Aye, need a word." Nyitzcha stepped in, pulling Felix and Janette away from the others. "Ah don't want them, they cost me my carriage and me horses. If anythin', I may be thinkin' we go back."
"Go back, no. We're so close." Felix whispered back.
"Lad, we ain't got no wheels no more. No clothes, no food, nothin'!"
"We can offer that in compensation! You know, for-for wrecking your thingy!" Spi called out, receiving Nyitzcha's growl. "Sorry! Just, we can hear you!"
"Lousy big eared nosy wooden elves." She grumbled, turning back to Felix and Janette. "We go back, is our best call else we may s'well dig ourselves a few holes."
"Why go back now, we need to save them while we can."
Janette sighed. "I have to agree, our mates are in danger but we're no good like this. Let's first hear them out and see if they can be of help."
"Maybe there is something we can salvage? A lot of boxes fell over, surely that can't be gone right?" Felix asked. "Please Nyitzcha?"
"Please, yer s'possed to be my slave, 'member?"
"Wow!" They heard from afar. "Sorry, sh-shouldn't of said that! Wow!"
"Quit yer yabbin!" Nyitzcha shouted back at the elf before shaking her head. "Ye really pullin' my leg 'ere."
"I'll massage them too if I have to, just please. Please?"
Nyitzcha closed her eyes, feeling the ring in her tiny finger before groaning. "Haaaaaaaah, fine! Just, just grab me things and then we see. Grab em!" She ordered, with Felix nodded and looking around, searching for any supplies left.
Janette backed away to meet with Spi and his mother, shrugging. "So why attack us?"
"Nukkaaaaaa was certain you guys had her family with you."
Nukka nodded. "Ya, you have her scent and she got so emotional, she misses her very much!"
"Scent?" She asked, only girls I've been with are cats.
"Sorry, terrible misunderstanding. We'll make it up to you, right Mother?" He mentioned, poking her ribs. She sighed and nodded. "Great!"
Janette shrugged. "I guess. I'm Janette, by the way."
"Spi, and this is my Mother, Alma." Alma glanced at Janette's hand before looking away, rude. "She's not very social, forgive us. She is nice once you get to know her. So, how do you guys know of the Priest?"
"He kidnapped our family." She responded, grabbing Alma and Spi'Reto by surprise as she walked away, helping Felix recover a crate he had found.
