Mr Marshall listens to Jennifer

“Alright. Tell me what happened,” John said.

Jennifer nodded. “Yesterday, Lauren came to me explaining that it was too hard to deliver drinks and do as I wanted. I also reviewed Lauren’s own filing system and paper work all of which was atrocious. I wanted to fire Lauren, but she begged me to keep her job. So I knew that there was some minor paper work that needed to be done and assigned it to Lauren today. She decided instead to color pages I guess because it was much more simplistic than writing words.”

Lauren’s jaw dropped as John gave Lauren a stern look, crossing his arms. “Go on,” John said.

“Lauren presented the coloring pages to the others and proceeded to pee on the floor soaking her outfit. I would like to believe it was an accident, but the timing was a bit too perfect. I had to change Lauren into a diaper and she decided to wear light up shoes and a pacifier as if she were a toddler. She refused to wear anything else,” Jennifer said. “And now she continues to color instead of do any real work.”

“I see…” John said. “Well… how much are we paying her?”

Jennifer grinned as she said. “Well, I agreed for Lauren to be paid a livable wage maximum. And considering she wears diapers and eats baby food now… I think 15/week should be more than adequate. We can discuss in private the details.”

“Great, don’t pay her anything more than what is needed. Lauren, we’ll have to have a talk later. For now, you can continue your coloring, but I expect to see the results before you leave,” John said.

“Actually, I have some examples to show you,” Jennifer said as she handed John the poorly colored pages.

John stared at the pages in disbelief. “This is horrible. What the hell is this?!”

“According to Lauren, she tried her best,” Jennifer said.

John looked over at Lauren who whimpered. “Don’t pay her any more than 8 dollars an hour,” John said. “We will discuss what we’ll do long term.”

Jennifer nodded and walked out leaving Lauren and Mr. Marshall alone.
