Mr. Fraser

"Hello?"

Brenda took a deep breath as she heard Mr. Fraser's voice, calming herself before she started talking.

"Hi Mr. Fraser. It's Brenda, from last night?" There was a long pause and Brenda could almost hear him thinking.

"Oh yes, hello Brenda," he said finally. "What can I do for you?"

"This is kind of embarrassing but I think I might have left some of my homework there last night, or in your car when you drove me home. Has it turned up? I'm sorry to be a nuisance."

"Um, I don't think so," he said with some hesitation, his voice betraying his uncertainty. "What was it?"

"A notebook. I'm pretty sure I put it in my backpack when I left, but when I got home the zipper was open, and I think it probably fell out in the car. It's really important Mr. Fraser," she added with a hint of wheedling in her voice.

"I didn't notice anything..."

"I'm sure it must be there Mr. Fraser, I can't think where else it could be. I know it's a nuisance but I really need it. I'm at the mall right now, and if you came here I'd search the car for it so you don't have to. I'd be ever so grateful Mr. Fraser. Please....." She let the last word linger out in a teasing, pleading voice, and she smiled as she heard him clear his throat.

"I suppose that would be ok," he said finally.

"That's fantastic! Thank you so much Mr. Fraser. I'll be at the east entrance, ok?"

"Ok. I'll be there in fifteen minutes. But I can't stay long."

"That's ok Mr. Fraser! You're wonderful! See you soon!" Brenda smiled as she terminated the call and checked her appearance in her mirror before going to meet Mr. Fraser.
