Mr. Fantastic Determines What Is Wrong With His Wife

The Fantasticar arrived within minutes. Moonstone had tried to put a blanket over Sue, but the Invisible Woman simply turned it invisible. When Mr. Fantastic emerged with armloads of high-tech gear, he immediately saw the problem.

"Reed!" Sue said. "I was just telling Karla, you haven't sucked my titties in a long time, and I really think you should..."

Mr. Fantastic and Dr. Stone shared a glance.

"We were talking about her sex life," Dr. Stone said. "And then she started exhibiting uninhibited behavior. I immediately checked her pupils and pulse, but there was no sign of a stroke. I contacted you immediately afterward."

Reed turned to Sue. He sat his wife down and then began to run various scanners over her head. He held her hand and spoke to her in soft, insistent terms. Sue Storm was blithely out of it, apparently unaware that there was anything wrong, smiling and asking Reed for various sexual favors. When he asked her to turn her skull invisible, Sue did it without question.

Immediately, Karla spotted the problem. There was a glowing blot on Sue's brain.

"Cosmic embolism," Reed said immediately, and attached a device to Sue's neck. "The changes our powers made to our bodies and nervous systems can lead to unique health problems. I hypothesized that something like this could happen—that the 'cosmic circuits' in our brains could cross, leading to a dangerous build-up and neural cascade. This is the first time I've ever seen it, however."

Moonstone swallowed hard. She had been conducting open brain surgery on someone whose basic anatomy was different than the human norm.

"Can...can you heal her?" Dr. Stone said, her voice half-choked with emotion.

"I can treat her. Once the build-up is safely dispersed, I can assess the physical damage. It might require nanotechnical surgical restoration to her last full brain scan," he muttered. Then he turned to Dr. Stone, his face suddenly concerned. "Doctor, I have an—odd request to make."

"Yes?" Moonstone said, already planning the half-truths she'd tell him if he had more questions about the events that led to Sue's current...condition.

"Sue is going to have some special needs until I can fully deal with the damage," he said. "It's going to take time. She isn't—I mean, I can't take her in front of the family like this."

"Do you think one of my pubes is turning grey?" Sue Storm said, staring between her legs, as if to emphasize Reed's point. "I'm so blonde, I can't really tell."

"You need a caregiver," Moonstone said, and for a moment, she considered using her powers to make Reed Richards susceptible to the suggestion that Dr. Stone should be that caregiver.
