Chapter 9 by Flamesofdarkness Flamesofdarkness

Where to next?

Mortis

For the time being, you separate yourself from the flow of time, letting it pass faster than before. You don't exactly want to wait around for the whole Clone Wars to be over and done with the long way, after all. You're not too worried about missing something, in the worst case you can just jump back in time to do it again, or retroactively make it have happened as you want.

About a month in, though, you get bored of making time pass, and decide to deal with one of the more important things for you to do during the Clone Wars– Mortis. You didn't see any reason for Anakin to go there to show her mastery over the Son and Daughter, not when you were far more of a master of the **** and all else than she could ever be.

In order to do that, then, you attempt to bring yourself to Mortis, and... you find yourself doing something more than you had planned to do. Immediately, you cut yourself off from the attempt– you could have completed it, but it seems your omniscience partnered with your omnipotence to do more than just movement, but your omnipotence also self-regulated to some degree. But what did you stop yourself from?

Answering that question, of course, is as easy as breathing. You focus on knowing Mortis, and instantly you comprehend the problem– Mortis is not a place, but rather a realm purely of the ****, and one for which accessing is not a question of physical presence, but rather a form of involuntary **** projection. What you'd noticed was your powers creating a **** presence for yourself so you could travel there, but... no. Why should you accept the limitations placed on you by a singular universe? As you desire, your body shifts to be hyperdimensional, though you also idealize it as you do so.

You do not have a **** presence different from yourself– the nature of your body is now that it is ****, and also would be Magic in a world with magic, and so on and so forth. For one being and body to be all of those at once would be impossible, perhaps even self-contradicting, but you are a God, and reality is as you will it.

Your new body, though, is certainly different. It's shaped differently, due to you deciding that you didn't want your mortal body any more, but beyond than that, it feels fundamentally different. You are no longer simply the divine lord of the ****– you are both of the **** and a commander of it. With your new body, you once will yourself to Mortis, and this time you arrive with ease.

As your feet touch upon the ground, you use the clairvoyant aspects of your omniscience, trying to figure out how the trio of this planet are reacting to your arrival. You hadn't hidden your **** presence in the least.

'My son, my daughter!', the Father cries out telepathically. 'Which of you has brought this being here?'

But just as you are able to hear his communication to his children, so too are you able to hear their denials. The Daughter, like her progenitor, is worried, but the Son is excited at the thought that he may be able to leave Mortis.

'Come, then, and we will face the interloper together. It may be possible that they are the Chosen One– none else could have entered here without my calling them.' In response, both the Daughter and the Son transform into their animal forms, the Son taking on the look of a gargoyle, and the Daughter, a griffin. You could, of course, will all three of you to the Father, but it seems more fun to let them panic a bit, and so you let your clairvoyance of the three and their discussions fade.

The walk was a quick one, at least from your perspective, since you'd shifted your timestream to make it so, though from their perspective, it probably took a few hours. The Son had tried the same trick with the boulder that he had in the original timeline, but you'd been able to easily deflect it, nudging it with the **** so it simply fell past you. Eventually, though, you arrive at the citadel, and there, you find all three of them waiting in the throne room. The Father is sitting on the throne, with the Daughter to his right and the Son to his left. "Welcome, traveler," the Father begins. "I had sensed the flow of the universe shifting, but I had not expected you to come so soon."

Before you can respond, the Son interrupts. "What... what are you? You cannot be." He turns to the Father. "This being– they cannot be the Chosen One! It is as if they have barely touched the ****. They have none of the taint of the dark, nor any depth in the light!"

"Are you questioning our Father, Brother?" the Daughter asks coldly.

Before the discussion can escalate, you interrupt. "Silence," you say, and the two of them fall silent, their jaws snapping shut under your power. "I know of your prophecy, Father," you say, putting a derisive note in the last word. You reach out your hand, and let your power in the **** grow greater. Then, you yank all three of them forward, and onto their knees.

"You... such power. You truly are the Chosen One," the Father gasps out, still prostate.

"No," you disagree. "I am beyond him. I will not merely tame your children, but remake them." You smile triumphantly. It's fun chewing the scenery. "But be content," you continue, "For I can promise that they shall not cause chaos in the universe under my reign, and I shall not die."

"You– Father, tell them not to do that. Father!" It is the Son who cries this out.

You can see the defeat in the Father's face. "To them, I am as powerless as you have ever been to me. I can do nothing."

What will the three of them become?
