Morning

(Hanna POV)

Hanna's night had been terrible: she'd had a nightmare in which she'd been kidnapped to become a member of a harem. Her hair had become super-sensitive and all because of a pink-haired Leprechaun. She straightened up before touching her hair to try to wake up and forget her stupid dreams.

"Aaaaaargh!" she moaned. She quickly withdrew her hand from her hair. This wasn't right. She put on her glasses and began to look at where she was.

"It wasn't a dream then?" she said aloud.

Abigail, who was standing in front of the mirror, busy admiring her body, replied to the young writer.

"No, yesterday was indeed real."

"But that's not possible" said Hanna before touching up her hair as if to prove that there was a mistake.

"Mmhmhmhmh" she moans once more.

"I see you like to touch your hair. Can I advise you to wait to have fun doing that and instead get dressed to come to breakfast with me?" Abigail asked.

Hanna looked at the young blonde woman. It was easy to forget that the woman in front of her had 25 years more experience than she did. She decided to listen and get dressed. Surprisingly, the wardrobe in the bedroom didn't just contain bikinis. Most of the clothes were actually quite decent. This was good news: she'd never have been able to motivate herself to show up in anything too sexy. That's why she'd never done cosplay. The idea was interesting, and she could see the fun in it, but showing up in front of people in cosplay... No, that was just unthinkable.

She and Abigail headed for the area where they'd eaten yesterday. This was most likely where they could have breakfast. When they arrived, Hanna noticed that Jessica was yelling at Daphne, unless it was just her natural way of speaking. Hanna didn't dare ask. Eric was drinking tea with elegance. The young writer couldn't stop staring at the halo over his head. It all seemed so unreal. Blanche was eating a slice of bread covered in honey. This looked more appetizing than the boxes of cookies Hanna usually swallowed.

She sat silently, trying not to let anyone notice her. This soon proved unsuccessful, for no sooner had she decided to pour herself a glass of orange juice than Daphne took the opportunity to speak to her. No doubt she was looking for a way to put an end to the conversion she was having with Jessica.

"Hi, Hanna. I hope you slept well. I know it's hard for you and, unlike most of us, you don't know anyone here. So, if you need to talk know that I'm open to listen." Said the meteorological engineer.

Hanna wasn't sure how to take this proposal. On the one hand, she could hardly refute his words, which in addition to being true, were rather kind. On the other hand, she found it odd that a young woman of barely 22 should be seeking her emotional support.

Abigail was just explaining how much she appreciated having her youth back when the Master decided to arrive.

Hanna took the time to observe him a little. And she wasn't the only one, for all conversation died down until he sat up and asked.

"Hello everyone, I hope you slept well. I confess I had trouble getting to sleep."

It was obvious enough, he looked exhausted. How many hours had he slept? two? three? Had he even slept at all?

"Are you sure you'll be able to stay awake all day?" scoffed Blanche.

Clearly, it was a legitimate question. Hanna then regretted not having her date scheduled for today. He would have slept, and the day would have been over.

Leo didn't really have time to answer the question when the host arrived, or rather appeared out of nowhere.

"Hello everyone. I'm delighted to see that none of you got lost. I hope you're enjoying the breakfast. The food is always of excellent quality. That's one of the requirements of the show, we're not in the USA either."

The remark made more than one member of the assembly smile. Slamming American food was easy, but frankly it was justified in Hanna's mind. With a third of the American population obese, it would be hard to argue otherwise. The host seemed quite proud of her joke and continued.

"I've come to remind you of the day's program. First of all, Daphne and Leo have a date planned, followed by an evening in the Master's suite. I hope you have something planned, my dear, because if you haven't, things are going to get ugly pretty quickly." Says Nola.

"I have a place in mind," replied Daphne summarily.

"Perfect. I'd like to point out that these dates are important for several reasons: 1) it's the perfect opportunity to get closer to the Master. In 2, you have the opportunity to earn VPs which is an important part of this show. And finally, in 3, if you're elected favorite date, you'll get to choose an additional transformation theme for your future transformations." Says Nola, all smiles.

"An additional transformation theme..." murmured everyone.

"Let's take Daphne's example: if she wins, she can choose to have one of her proposed transformations linked to the weather," explained Nola.

"Can we choose anything as a theme?" Eric asked.

"No, it has to be 2 words at most and make sense. Also, it can't be ultra-precise. If you say, 'Oak Leaf' it's not going to work." replied the Leprechaun.

"I see," said the angel.

Hanna wondered what he was thinking, then remembered that given her ranking in the popularity poll, she'd better think about it.

"And to motivate you a little more, the person who made the worst date will have an additional theme chosen by the audience. So be motivated." Says Nola

Of course, it couldn't be that simple, she'd have to add an extra punishment.
