Kael wakes with the dawn, and opens his eyes to find Evie already awake. Lying naked on his chest, she smiles at him as his eyes open. The happiness on her face is gratifying, and Kael wraps a muscular arm around her, hugging Evie against his chest. The elven woman sighs happily, resting her head on his shoulder.

“Good morning, master. Did you sleep well?”

Evie giggles. “I did good, master?”

Kael smiles. “I’ve never been happier, love.”

She seems to melt against him, sighing, as he continues. “You took away my nightmares, you’ve made my life a joy. Last night was just a bonus.”

Kael nods. “I feel the same way. And like I said before, don’t feel pressured to do anything you’re not comfortable with.”

“I love you too. But we should probably get up, or it’ll be difficult to keep that promise.”

Kael watches her strut out of the room, clearly aware of his eyes following her.
