Chapter 18
by Emptyplanet
What's next?
Morning after
Sven awoke to feel his body pinned down the floor, his body ached all over and his head throbbed lightly, he felt a little dehydrated and groggy still from his awakening so chalked the added body pressure up to the wounds he received last night, that was until he tried to pick himself up off the straw lined floor-bed, only for the covers to fall off of him and to reveal two messy tufts of hair resting on either side of his chest, one a deep red, the other a mossy green.
The red haired mound stirred first, followed by the green.
"Morning master, when's breakfast?~" Ignis yawned out cutely before resting her head back into his chest, Sven's mind was whirring in overclocked speeds, a million quests formed at the top of his head, none staying there for more than a fraction of a nano second before being replaced with another, increasingly pressing one.
"Igni- why? With me? In bed?" Was the unintelligible culmination of all these rapid fire thoughts, Ignis giggled into his chest.
"It's comfier sleeping in your bed on the floor than it is sharing a feathered bed with that fat cow.~" She said in a sing song voice, the moss colored hair vibrated like a hornets nest as the 'fat cow' in question stirred from her rest, glaring daggers at the mound of visible red hair she could see from just over the covers.
"Liar! You just wanted to sexually **** Sven during his sleep!" Elise pointed an accusatory finger from under the covers at Ignis, who stirred herself to return the evil glare right back at Elise.
"And why are you here too, Elise? That feathered bed is far more suited for a noble girl like you." Ignis smirked as she saw Elise's face fluster up.
"I-It's so I can make sure you don't try anything funny with Sven! N-Not while he's injured and can't defend himself from your d-deviant charms!" Elise's face was something like a tomato right now, Sven was watching the two girls argue just over his chest like it was some kind of puppet show with him as the only member of the audience - the thought alone caused Sven to break out into a wide grin, and then laughter.
"What's so funny, master?!" Ignis prodded him in the ribs, causing the ticklish Sven to continue laughing in earnest now.
"I bet he finds your stupid face amusing, I know I do!" It was Elise's turn to smirk, causing another row of bickering to erupt between the two. It was like seeing two sisters arguing, Sven couldn't help but continue laughing all throughout the morning.
This mornings breakfast smelled delicious, Sven thought as the trio walked down the stairs, Sven was greeted with thanks and hospitality by the patrons as he descended, a far cry in difference from when he had first walked down those stairs for breakfast, the people eyed him with familiarity and trust now, it made him feel much more welcomed and comfortable, however this morning he also noticed the stares directed at Ignis, I guess he expected that since she was a new face, had vividly red hair, porcelain skin and quite short for a human, her appearance must be as alien to them now as when Sven first walked down with his white hair and red eyes, looking like some kind of demon king.
"Aint you a short one, is Sven treating you well?" One of the patrons more portly customers asked Ignis with a polite smile, a merchant probably. Ignis looked at the man with disdain before walking past him like he were a ghost.
"Keep your words to yourself, pig man. Only master may ask me anything." The inn was filled with surprised sounds of differing frequencies, the Inn keeper laughed awkwardly before rushing to serve up the customers their breakfasts. Sven was as shocked as anyone else at such a rude display, was she always like this? Sven wondered, probably not, it probably has to do with how she perceives men after she was imprisoned by Olaf.
As Sven seated himself and his two companions in their usual spot, he heard the sound of a wooden plate clashing against the floor, directing his attention upwards Sven saw the inn keepers daughter looking at his table - no, more accurately she was looking directly at Ignis who she hadn't seen before, a blush covering her face almost spilling out into her wide white eyes cranked open in shock. Noticing he was staring back and that she had spilled a plate of food like a fool, she ran off into the back room with near steam coming out of her ears as she fled.
"That was weird." Ignis commented, Sven thought not so much. Maybe she had jumped to a conclusion again like last time, Sven wondered. While musing, Sven took notice of Ignis, her feet barely touched the ground while seated, in fact she was kicking her feet and letting them hover just above the ground.
"How old are you anyway, Ignis?" Sven abruptly asked, Ignis turned to him with a glint in her eyes.
"69 years young.~" She reveled in the two jaws practically breaking the table in order to drop to the floor.
"69?! But you're so- is it magic?! How are you so young looking as a human?!" Elise frantically hovered over Ignis, as if to inspect if she could see past the magic barrier or something if she tried a different angle.
"That's because I'm not a human - and stop poking me!" Elise was prodding her cheek to see if the spell would dissipate. Sven's eyes shot up at that, not human? Could it be?! Reaching out to touch her, Ignis blushed as his hands went to her face, traveling upwards and to the sides until he began to feel through the ropes of soft, silky hair - two ears, humanoid in shape until...
Ignis moaned out involuntarily as Sven played with the tips of her pointy ears, letting go when he realized what he had done, a blush to match hers covering his face - he just couldn't help himself!
"A-A high elf!" Sven thought aloud, hearing a cough to his left he turned to see a not too pleased inn keeper carrying 3 plates of food.
"It's a bit too early for that in this establishment, Mr Gate." Putting the plates down one by one, the inn keeper stopped at Sven's and bent down to whisper in his ear.
"I don't know what you keep doing to my daughter, but I expect you to make it right." Sven shivered for the stare he was getting from the inn keeper, why did he have the worst luck ever?! Sighing in relief when the man left, he dug into his much needed food.
The meal went by without further incidents, besides Ignis stealing shy glances his way, it was then that Sven realized he hadn't checked their character screens before - and he hadn't checked his in a while now either. Focusing on them he opened his and their character sheets like a popup on a computer screen.

Sven mused over the words across Ignis's sheet, so she did have a class - he suspected as much when he watched her cast that fire ball, but now he knew for sure that classes were obtainable in this world. Then he paused over the guild, PennyCut? It was no guild he had heard of before, so not a top guild back when this world was just a game, and what was with the 'Academy' part tacked on at the end there? It sounded more like a school than a guild with a name like that. He brought himself out of his stupor and picked himself up off the chair, daylight hours were burning after all.
