Chapter 404 by lew54321 lew54321

Are there any more issues?

More thinking

The two of them had told you on multiple occasions that you weren’t being selfish or were just putting others first but you still couldn’t wrap your head around them believing that. Grace’s opinion of you maybe but with what Emma knew about the KDK, you had to ask her why and got her to sit in the back of the car with you so you could question her.

“Do you really think I’m not selfish?” You whispered, knowing Grace would probably see you whispering but you still needed to know.

“I mean you kind of are but not really” Emma replied, seeing whatever look you had on your face that made her explain further.

“Think about last night for example. We said you could take the selfish option…” Emma started to say.

“And I did,” you interrupted, thinking you had found at least some evidence.

“Right, and what was the first thing you did with that? You found a way to satisfy both my kink and my Mom’s. It was amazing don’t get me wrong but we both would have been up for doing something solely for you in that moment” Emma responded, pointing out what you had done.

You went to refute that but stopped yourself from blurting anything out just to argue your point and actually thought about it for a bit longer. What Emma said was right but you weren’t exactly suffering when you chose to do that with the two of them. Your thoughts had been selfish but they saw your actions as anything but that.

With your thoughts looking inward, you tried to figure out if it was just how they saw you or if there had been a change in yourself that the KDK had unknowingly caused.

“Is this a new thing with me or…” you asked Emma, hinting at the KDK but not wanting to say so out loud.

“I think you’ve always been like this. Less oblivious than you used to be though” Emma teased, a blush rising on your face knowing how long it took you to ask her out.

That at least ruled out anything KDK related but that still didn’t help you come up with an answer that felt satisfying. The one thing you did think of was that you weren’t sure what your kink really was. Sure you liked the whole dominance thing but if someone would have used the KDK on you to reveal your kink, you couldn’t exactly pinpoint what it would have been.

“He’s always been a bit selfless. Right Mom?” Emma asked, opening up the conversation to her to avoid further whispering.

“It is one of your charms.” Grace replied, briefly looking back at the two of you in the rear-view mirror while she was driving.

The open discussion with you as the topic did stop you from getting stuck in your own head about what your kink would be and the whole other can of worms that could open, forcing you to actively listen and respond.

“I just don’t see it” you replied, being honest with them about how you felt.

“And that’s fine. Just make sure you have Emma around to shoo away people who would use that against you” Grace joked, turning her attention back to the road after that.

You wanted to think on this for longer and it still felt like you were somehow being gaslit into believing you were a better person than you were but you started to recognise some of the streets you had seen before and knew now wasn’t the time to self reflect.

Some of the progress you made not thinking about the KDK this afternoon seemed to vanish but you were able to shake it off and were still optimistic about meeting up with Izzy again.

Grace and Emma also noticed you were all nearly there and once you were on the street for Izzy’s house, Grace slowed the car and made sure your father’s car wasn’t anywhere nearby. The coast was clear but Grace still parked away from the front of the house, something you also would have done in her shoes as well.

With similar feelings to yesterday, you took a moment before opening up the car door and getting out of the car, this time with both Emma and Grace joining you from the start.

The more serious conversation over lunch had made the mood more serious but when you all went through the yard and knocked on the front door, Izzy opened the door while holding Jack in one arm with a smile on her face.

“Welcome! Come in and make yourself at home!” she greeted, inviting you all in and cutting through the tension instantly.

You were the first through the door behind her, followed by Emma and then Grace, turning when you heard the sound of Grace locking the door behind her after it ended up saving you yesterday.

Izzy went through the house towards the kitchen again and you ended up in the same seats as you did last time, Emma and Grace sitting next to each other and you taking a seat opposite.

“So how's your day been? And do any of you want something to drink?” Izzy asked, placing Jack in his chair before moving to get some glasses out of a cabinet behind you.

Izzy busied herself with getting each of you something after you asked what she had before finally grabbing herself something and sitting down next to you, being a stereotypical good host and letting you start the conversation properly again.

“Yeah it’s been a fun day. Not what I expected for this trip but I’m glad we got to enjoy ourselves. How have you and Jack been?” you asked back, peering around Izzy to take a look at your half brother.

“We’ve been okay, isn’t that right my little precious” Izzy replied, messing with Jack’s cheek and getting a laugh out of him.

Jack was much more active than he had been yesterday and as soon as he made a cute little laugh from the attention his mother was giving him, that was all Emma and Grace needed to start cooing over him as well.

With Jack being the centre of attention for a moment, you then got to sit back and watch them all and it felt like the divide over the table was now gone. You didn’t have the ability or the charisma to pull off easing the tension in one conversation but having a baby at the table did certainly help, giving everyone a safe target to focus their attention on if it ever felt awkward.

Watching Emma and Grace play with him did bring a smile to your face and you were content to just let the conversation revolve around Jack as Grace asked all the random questions that she didn’t get to ask about him yesterday.

You did however still need to bring up the elephant in the room and once it felt like the atmosphere was returning back to something somewhat normal, you cautiously tried to broach the topic.

How do you bring up the topic?
