More Power!

The second strike lands, just as hard and strong as the first one (and maybe a little bit more). Even still, you're able to power through it! You sidestep, circling around the monster so that you're facing the scythe directly as it lands on your shield.

For as strong as the attack is, you're still able to absorb it completely with your shield. Your feet barely slide back along the gravel path, before you're able to shove the scythe back with enough **** to knock the one-armed monster completely off balance and leave it open.

In the few quarter-seconds that the monster stumbles to recover itself, you lift your gun arm one more time, close your eyes, and squeeze the trigger down tightly. As the shot fires off loudly, your entire body tenses up in preparation for retaliation.

BANG!

Nothing's attacked you just yet.

..............Okay, you'll peek.

You slowly open one eye, untensing your body, and see the monster lying slumped in the gravel. There's a sizeable crater in the top of its head where your explosive round landed, out of which that same orange liquid that you reckon is supposed to simulate blood pours out. The monster isn't moving at all.

YOU DID IT! YOU JUST WON AGAINST A MONSTER, ON YOUR VERY FIRST GO! And you did it all on your own, too!

There's a loud CLANG to your left, as Cameron connects with a powerful backhand of his shield to the head of the monster he's up against. You pause your celebrations to look over, in case you need to turn this major success of yours into a series. To be safe, you load five impact bullets into your pepperbox pistol again.

The monster is stunned and sent down to the ground, where it starts to scramble up to its feet again -- but before it's able to, a crossbow bolt whizzes past you from the hut that Jace is in and connects right with the simulated monster's flank, pinning its leg in place. With the simulated monster stuck on the ground, Cameron is quickly able to finish it off with a series of punches with his bladed shields.

"Woo!" You cheer, as he connects with the final one. He stands up, fairly exhausted and panting, and gives you a little smile. You're feeling super chuffed about this entire situation you've put yourself in, and very much like you belong at a Warrior school right now, so you smile back.

With those two monsters down, that just leaves the one fighting Delilah on the bridge! Once it's beaten, your class has won resoundingly. You look over to the bridge to check up on that, spinning the chamber-barrels of your pepperbox pistol in eagerness.

It looks like very little headway has been made in their fight, on account of Delilah doing all sorts of jumps and flips to evade strikes and her sickles not being able to do much when they hit the monster's chitin. You could probably help her out a bit if you wanted, since at the moment it sort of looks like it's just down to whichever side lands the first proper hit.
