Moonstone Lays A Verbal Trap For Sue Storm

"I suppose I do," Dr. Stone said, and she met Sue Storm's gaze, cool and calm, her mind working. If Sue did suspect who she was, and what she was up to, then she must be immensely confident in herself. That was something that Moonstone could use. She leaned closer to Sue Storm. "In fact, I'd like to confess a little something to you right now."

The Invisible Woman's eyes widened. Clearly, she hadn't expected that response. Warily, Sue leaned forward a little, her body language showed the interest, even if her poker face gave little away.

"Oh? Is that strictly professional?" Sue said.

"Perhaps not," Dr. Stone admitted. "But these are exceptional circumstances. You see, I've been contacted by someone. A supervillain. They want me to spy on you."

Sue Storm blinked, taken aback. Her eyes narrowed.

"Who?" the Invisible Woman asked.

"They haven't given me a name. But they...have some information on me. **** material," Dr. Stone.

Sue Storm was invested now. Moonstone could almost see the wheels turning in her mind. The villain herself felt nervous. The half-truths and lies mingled together required giving part of her own game away. She had no way to tell how Sue Storm would react. Still...if this didn't ease her suspicions by giving Sue another target, there was nothing else for it but to do something much more dangerous and overt.

"I'll need to know what they're blackmailing you with," Sue said.

Dr. Stone's mouth was a tight line for a moment. This was the moment of truth. She watched Sue's eyes carefully.

"My name isn't Karla Stone. It's Karla Sofen. I am a psychiatrist, but...I have a criminal record. I was a supervillain known as Moonstone. This," she raised her hands to indicate the office. "Is my attempt to go straight. To try and help people. Like you."

It was the lack of surprise that told Karla she was correct. The Invisible Woman gave no sign of shock at the villain's admission. Yet by admitting the truth, Moonstone knew she could perhaps shift Sue's suspicions.

"I know who you are, Karla," Sue Storm said softly. "But how do I know I can trust you? How do I know this isn't some trick as part of an elaborate plot? Our sessions together have been...unusual."

"I was only trying to help you," Moonstone insisted. "What do you want from me? Strip me naked to make sure I'm not hiding any gadgets? I'm telling the truth! I'm being honest with you. What can I do, what question can I answer that will convince you?"

Sue Storm leaned back and seemed to think about that. Her sphincter clenched around the plug in her ass. She thought of what she had seen earlier, in Karla's apartment.
