Mom cancels birthday plans (Alternate) (Something was booked on her Calendar)

Only a day later, your mom called you up again, though it was not with good news. "Hey, sorry to say this but.. I won't be able to make it to your birthday."

you pause for a second and a hint of annoyance came through in your reply "but why, I was looking forward to it all and you back out straight away."

A sigh could be heard on the other end. "Before all this, It seems the old Amber had a consultation and booked in for some plastic surgery. Everythings just been so hectic I didn't notice the surgery appointment in my Calendar until a reminder notification, this morning. Unfortunately, its tommorow and I have to catch a plane to Miami tonight for it." You were about to say that she should just cancel or move it but she continued. "Before you say anything, no I can't cancel it. Its too late a notice to do so. I promise as a late birthday apology, you can be one of the first to see post surgery."

With that said she hung up and you were just left to wait.
