"Okay, so let me get this straight, you promised that if you got a raise, you would do your job better... And yet you still decided to dump another extra species girl on me without my consent?" Kimihito asked Smith, out of earshot of Mero of course.

"Well, I had already done most of the paperwork before you did whatever you did to get my raise, and I won't see said raise until next month anyway. That said, I did send you an email last night to give you a chance to say no before I finished the paperwork," Smith replied. "Just as a show of goodwill since I got the raise, even if I won't see it immediately. A bit of a preview that I do intend to do my job better once I actually start getting that money.

"Oh really? I didn't see any emails," Kimihito grunted, taking his phone out and going into his email account, and scrolling... Pausing as he saw the one Smith mentioned.

"...you should really check those before you go to bed," Smith giggled. "Even I do that, I did still have to do the bare minimum to keep my job you know..."

"...does crow taste better well done, or medium rare?" Kimihito asked with a sigh.

"I'd go with well done, if you have to eat crow, no sense in getting food poisoning!" Smith chirped. "And anyway, are you actually complaining? The renovations will be covered by my department, and you're going to get a free swimming pool out of it. True, it's for your new homestay, but I doubt she'll mind sharing! Plus, she's hot. Do you actually hate this?" she teased, poking Kimihito's chest.

"...I guess not," he confessed.

"I thought not!" Smith grinned. "In that case, I'm heading back to the office! Call if you have questions!"

Kimihito sighed as he watched her go. "... she's going to be the **** of me... Well, her, or one of my homestays..." He then sat back in a chair to await the completion of the renovations, considering how to approach this new adjustment to his lifestyle.
