Mixed Feelings

"...seriously? So there's a whole bunch of us?" Allegra asks with some eagerness, some of her caramel-colored skin starting to peek out from her thinning pelt.

"The original pack in the exhibit is pretty gung-ho on recruiting," you nod as you sit up with a wince. "I don't know what kind of mindset they're in. Like they were just performers in costume before... whatever this is hit. Now they're some sort of lesbian werewolf thrill kill cult."

"Not gonna lie, that sounds kinda awesome," she admits.

"I guess? I didn't stick around after one of them bit me. Truth told I'm kinda scared of going back."

"Why?" Allegra asks, arching a shaggy brow. "It's not like they could do anything to us now."

"It's like it overwrote them, Ally. It made the roles they were playing real. They think the exhibit's really a cabin somewhere out in the wilderness. I stepped out of the exhibit and she legit couldn't see me."

"Wow, that's pretty freaky."

"Yeah, and part of me still wanted to stay there or go back. Like it was a real temptation when I had to go by on my way to find you."

"So you're afraid we could wind up like them. Okay, that's a concern. I'm not ready to give up my whole life to run with the she-wolves, as nice as that sounds."

"There's also... shit," you mutter, "we've forgotten about Jenny."

"Oh geez, she was headed for the basement wasn't she?"

"So she's quite possibly in the middle of a bunch of actual vampires and succubi."

"At least she's dressed for it," Allegra snorts.

"Not funny," you sigh. "Hell, what are we going to wear?"

You gesture to the general nudity the two of you are facing as your fur pulls back into your skin.
