What's next?
Minutes Later
Two choices were made.
The first was to take the scenic route home, offering a bit more time to recover. The second was to call ahead back to Green Valley to get some poor saps to unload them instead. While Charlie was on the phone, Ethan started to cool off, realizing just how sweaty he was. If somebody was to look at his shirt, they'd have thought he just came out of a pool.
"Alright..." Charlie walks over, having finished her call. "Blocky and Big Tim are gonna unload it for us."
"Blocky?" Ethan raises an eyebrow, honestly questioning both names, but deciding to just focus on the one.
"Yeah," Charlie fans her face, its natural color still a memory. "Good guy. Built like a brick shithouse."
Ethan ponders why his nickname isn't 'Bricky' then, but is still too sapped to really dig into it. "Why didn't you get him to help instead of me then?"
"Eh," Charlie pulls against her collar lightly, "Kinda thought this would be a good excuse to hang out, but fuck... Let's get going."
Moving towards the truck, Ethan silently promises himself to not jump at $200 like this again.
