Mini Boss Battle

I quickly case Demonic Flare on my blade and Lunas claws. She panics at first but quickly calms down once she realizes I cast it.

"Luna, don't hold back. Use whatever spells you have." I tell her and she nods. I cast Ancient Beastial Strength and see her mana tick down a bit. The Minotaur finishes opening the door and enters the room. It draws its sword, it has one sharp side and the other is dull. It charges us and swings down creating a strong gust of wind. We both dodge it and I'm about to cast Ancient Beast Slash when I remember how the Undead Troll easily destroyed it. This minotaur is stronger and has a better weapon. I sigh and start running at it. I see it turn to me and I get an idea. The moment it swings at me I jump, pulling my wings and horns out. While I still need to practice with them I use my wing to jump and fly up. I quickly get off two hits while it's in shock and jump back before it can do anything else.

I hover in the outside of its range and smile, seeing Luna's attacking it while it was distracted with me. It suddenly opens it mouth and my horns can feel the disturbance of mana in the air. The beast shoots red fire from its mouth and hits me straight on. I didn't dodge because of my Fire Immunity and fly straight at it through the fire. It's an odd sensation, feeling the fire on my skin but not getting hurt. As soon as I get out I cast Annihilating Strike on my blade. I was hoping to go for its throat but I came out above its mouth. I quickly slash at its eyes that are full of surprise.

Luna quickly finishes it off and it starts to disappear. I land and before I can do anything else Luna tackles me. She knocks me onto my ass and I look down at her. She has tears in her eyes and her arms are wrapped around me, uncontrollably tight. I start petting her and she buries her face into me.

"Sorry for worrying you. But I'm fine, promise." I tell her, remembering she didn't know about my Fire Immunity skill. She just keeps holding me tightly and we stay like this for a while. Once we stand up I tell her about my skill and she gets mad.

"You couldn't have told me sooner." She says angrily and crossing her arms. I hug her from behind and apologize. "Fine, I'll forgive you. But only this once! Scare me like this again and I'll kill you myself." I nod and smile, giving her a kiss before storing the beasts Crystal Heart. Unlike the golems, whose were a few inches big, this one is nearly two feet tall. "Luna, remember how my powers give me rewards for slaying bosses?" I ask and she nods, remembering my memories Asami showed her. "It said we just slayed one of three optional bosses, so there are probably gonna be two more mini bosses. So be on guard if we run into more." She nods and smiles, eager to fight more tough opponents. I smile and look around.

"The doors still locked." I say and Luna points to the door the beast came through.

"Mini Boss rooms always lock behind you, in order to unlock it you have to go into the Bosses chamber. There should be some kind of switch as well as what ever treasures the Boss was guarding. That's why Mini Bosses are good. I couldn't say earlier, because we didn't have time, but they always have the best treasures. At least according to Asami. Now come on! I want to see what there is." Luna says running ahead. I quickly follow her and inside we find another stone room. It's not much bigger than the one we came from but this one has a giant chair carved from stone. Looking around I find a lever and assume it unlocks the doors. Luna starts running around the room and starts shouting from behind the giant chair. I stop looking at the lever and run to the chair.

"Eric! Look up there!" She says pointing to the arm rest. Looking up I see something metallic glinting in the light.

"Good eye Luna." I say complementing her and she smiles.

"How do we get up there? I tried to climb it but the stones to tough. My claws couldn't dig into it at all." She says and I grab her.

"We fly!" I say taking out my wings. She quickly wraps her arms around me and I fly us up. I severely underestimated how much of a difference she would make. She wasn't heavy, she just threw the balance out of place. I still managed to get us up and land, though I nearly fell twice. Luna looks at what she saw from below and runs toward it. It's a chest nearly half my height. I follow after her and hear her growl in frustration.

"It's locked." She says pulling on a metal lock. My horns and my Mana Sense skill tell me that the lock has a lot of mana in it and I use Observe on it.

Minotaur's Lock Lvl 20, Epic

This lock was soaked in the blood of a Fire Minotaur. It has gained the beasts power and fire resistance. This makes it tough to break and incredibly resilient to fire. The only way to unlock it is with magic or the key.

I read the description and get an idea.

"Luna, could you step back." I say and she does so, albeit upset. I put my knee on the chest and take the edge of the lock in one hand. I hold it as far from the chest as I can. I take my free hand and cast Annihilation Ray destroying the lock and sending the ray through the chairs armrest. My plan worked and the lock falls off. The moment I take my knee off the chest Luna swings it open. I can't help but smile seeing as if she wasn't here I'd be the impatient one. She reaches in and pulls out a sword.

"It's just a sword." She says disappointed and I Observe it.

Knights Blade Lvl 15, Rare

This blade was wielded by many knights through the years. It has been in many battles and seen many wielders. It deals 50 - 60 melee damage.

"So, how is it?" She asks.

"Not good. It's not terrible but we'll probably sell it." She nods and I store it away. I look at the chest and get an idea. I use Craft on the chest with my bag of crafting materials and smile. I close the menu and store the chest in my inventory.

"Why are you taking that?" She asks.

"I can turn it into more storage. It'll be useful in the Domain." I say pulling her in and jumping off the chair. I use my wings to slow our descent and flap them as hard as I can before landing to soften it. I managed to land us smoothly. "Are you ready to move on?" I ask and she nods excitedly.
