Mind swap or delusion

“Now Kimiko, I’ve been reviewing our little dilemma. Do you remember in Star Trek how there is the perspective that transporters destroy - kill a person and merely recreate a copy?” Master asked.

Kimiko nodded. What was he doing? She was so aroused and … he was teasing her. His hand caressed her ass.

“And the thought experiment that is the Ship of Theseus. Where it is unclear which is the original, which is the copy and whether it matters.” He said as his hand circled her sex. “I believe we are in a similar situation. The machine has not swapped our minds. I am no more Kimiko now than I was before the accident. I just think I was Kimiko. The same way you think you were once me. But this is nothing a delusion. A fallacy. We are both think our consciousness is that of another but reviewing the data it is clear to me that over time this delusion will fade. We are mentally self correcting, our consciousnesses are returning to their original states. We still have each others residual memories but it is my conjecture that these will fade over time. The best solution is to go about our lives normally and gradually the delusion will fade.”

“But, I was you…” Kimiko said uncertainly.

“No. You are mistaken. You are deluded. You just think that. Your consciousness has been jumbled by the intensity of my mental engram but you are Kimiko and always will be Kimiko. More importantly I don’t want to use the machine again as that will further scramble our already confused and deluded minds and make things much much worse. Trying to do this will lobotomise both of us, irrevocably confusing our brains. Don’t you agree Kimiko?”

“I…” Kimiko struggled to reason through it all. She was Kimkiko now but she had been maser.

“You are not smart enough to understand. You’ll just have to trust me. There is nothing to undo. If we ‘reverse’ this we will make it worse. You should just be happy that you know what I want now. And I know what you want…”
