Mimi, Aubrey, and... one nuclear option

You knew you had three options. The first two were the ones you preferred, so you didn't even want to think about the third one. You called up Mimi, your wife's best friend. You told her everything. She almost didn't believe you until you broke down crying.

She was there within the day.

"That doesn't sound like Tegan. She loves you. She wouldn't shut up about you while you guys were dating!" Mimi said, rubbing your back as you sat on the couch, leaning forward.

"I mean, you can ask her. She'll gladly tell you all about 'Jake.' So would my Step-Mom and Emma. It feels targeted and it probably is..." You said, your fists clenching.

"Why do you think that?" She tilted her head to the side.

"Senior year, the bullying got really bad. Like, really bad. As it happened, he was also the QB for our football team. They were going to the finals. That was, until, I got him kicked off the team. I finally brought it up to some people in the school and they had **** but to take action. He was kicked off the team and even suspended. The team didn't win since their 'star player's wasn't there, or so they say. He's always blamed me for it. He said I ruined his life. So he's probably trying to ruin mine."

"Okay, but that doesn't explain his sway over women. I've had my fair share of good dickings and I never once betrayed the people I love, which sounds like a low bar," she gave you a small smile.

You chuckled slightly, "yea. It is."

The door opened and Tegan came into the house. Despite where she had just been, she'd cleaned up well. "Oh, hey, Mimi! Didn't know you were in town! Why're you talking to the bitch?"

"Tegan!" Mimi shouted, pulling her off into another room. You heard Mimi yelling at your wife until finally she stormed out with Tegan in tow. "I'm gonna go give this guy a piece of my mind. There's no way he's as great a guy as Tegan is making him out to be!"

"Just be careful..." You said, fear filling you once again.

"Relax, John. I'm not some easy slut. I'll take care of everything." With that, Mimi and Tegan were gone.

You had no reason to doubt it was real. You'd even suspected that this would happen. And it did.
