Chapter 10 by FlightoftheBeers FlightoftheBeers

Do you want to take the risk?

Nuclear it is.

You couldn't risk it. If nothing else, you still had a place there with Aubrey and Dillon and everyone else. But you knew he wouldn't stop. He'd find them and then who knows what would happen.

So you picked up the phone.

And you called her.

While you were close with and dated Tegan pretty consistently, there was a year without her. A year with Siri. She was different from any girl you'd ever met. Whereas Tegan was soft-spoken and a bit naive, Siri was self-assured and bold. Too bold, in fact. She wanted to take things to the next level; sure wanted you to be her sub. At the time, you were a bit too full of yourself and even scoffed at the idea of submitting to her— or anyone for that matter.

She handled it well. Maturely, even. She told you that it would be for the best if the two of you split up since you had two different expectations of the relationship. You agreed and you broke up. You drifted apart after that, giving 'happy birthdays' and 'congrats' where you could. It was friendly enough, but almost robotic. But you knew that if anyone can help, it would be her.

She picked up after two rings. "Hello, love. I've been wondering when you would call."

You had that guy feeling again. Jake got to get, didn't he?

"W-what do you mean?"

"The Reversed Lovers - disharmony. The Upright Wheel of Fortune - a turning point. The Reversed Emporer - domination." She paused. "Upright Judgement - Retribution."

Her words hung in the air for a moment. She'd always been like this: right. She was so self-assured that she never even considering getting an improper reading. Maybe it was simply psychology at work. Maybe she was really good at reading people. Maybe there was something else going on...

Your doorbell rang. "Hold on, Siri." You sat your phone down and went to open the door.

Your heart couldn't take anymore of these surprises.

At least this was a welcome one.

"Hello, sweetie. Did you miss me? Seems like you're in need of some help," she said with that allure of hers that drew you in in the first place.
