Your Monster
Metallic Dragon-King of The Hive ((Destiny Inspired))
The two goddesses of darkness that had plucked me out of my world as I lay dying, after a life of…well, nothing worth going into, have given me a number of choices here. In the end, I built a new form for myself that I was rather pleased with until the twink angel appeared before me and gave me a whole new bevy of alternatives.
I found myself in a position I hated, choosing between two warring sides. Did I serve the Darkness who brought my back? Or did I betray them and take the powers of Light and ‘save my soul’, whatever that means?
Well, before I talk about my choice in that department let’s just go over what I have chosen in terms of powers...
Originally I had chosen to have the powerful monster core, but when the angel appeared before me I chose instead to go with the Beautiful angelic core.
For size I chose to remain human-sized, getting access to an additional class seemed like a good enough perk, and also I had no interest in being a giant monster. Cliche.
For monster family, I originally picked Draconic, and once given the cheat options I also chose to hybridize with Bioferric, making me into a humanoid dragon made of living metal. Seemed like an interesting combination.
For my “package,” I choose the standard package with the breeding and mind break add-ons, weaponizing the same things I can fuck with didn’t interest me so I passed up Ryona.
For my monster power, I choose to give myself the Dungeon Core, a ready-made base with minions inside of it ready to go. The others seemed good, but this was more my style.
For classes, as I can choose two, I decided on Knight and Sorceror. Being able to take on the role of General and spellcaster was definitely up my alley.
I already mentioned I took the Hybridization cheat, though they were all interesting…I’ll have to see if I can break the world’s magic upon entering it and gain more.
Then, of course, Ariel showed up.
I already mentioned I switched out my monster core for the Beautiful angel core, I didn’t take any of his “monster” family changes, happy with where I was.
Then the oaths, for a moment I considered ignoring them…but then he mentioned each oath would give me one divine miracle and two angel blessings. So I took two of these Oaths. I will respect Hallowed Ground, I always had respect for the beliefs and religions of others in my old life, and I felt no need to change that now. Then I took Love Humanity. I will not abuse them, I will take them under my wing and protect them. Protect them from even themselves, Freedom makes mortal people abuse themselves and others, so as an Immortal Angelic Monster…I will shepherd them.
Four angel blessings were mine to choose now, and I chose Humanity to blend in when I needed to, Domain as I had an interesting way to mix that into my Dungeon if this world would allow it, Immaculate Conception to create armies I didn’t need to worry about supplying or feeding, and last I choose God’s Eye for intel gathering. I nearly choose warmth…sentimentality will be the ruin of me.
For Divine Miracles I have chosen Enoch and Pure Land, all of this rolling into the plan that slowly had been building in my mind this whole time.
Now, as I look down on the world I am about to enter…I should mention my decision about the Light and the Dark…fuck them both. They are both weak, preening and primping around like the be-all and end all of power while needing to cheat and create ME to win for them. There is only one truth, and that is strength. Thankfully, a video game called Destiny back in my world gave me a pretty good name for my new philosophy, The Sword Logic.
Whatever can fight and win deserves to exist free, whatever loses does not. Whether this means I conquer it, protect it from itself under my rule, or eradicate it I will decide case by case…except unaligned humans of course, those who have not chosen a side are protected by my pacts. For now.
Speaking of Destiny as an inspiration, I’ll take some fun titles from that game, but I’ll make my own name… I am Caelum Ignis, The King of the Osmium Throne, Corrupted Sovereign, Subjugant to None.
((This will be a much more narrative run than others that might focus on the stats and leveling, this will use that all as a framework and less as rules))
