Mertitan

It's unusual, for a land and sea dweller to mate... but when they do; they make weird hybrids.

Should a Giant or Jotun take fancy of a Mermaid, they could create a Mertitan. A mermaid is to a fish as a mertitan is to a whale or shark, quite literally. Mertitans are the upper half of a Giant, and the lower half of a large marine animal, usually a species of whale, shark, or large dolphin. They are semi-sociable people, either traveling in groups of 20 or so, with scouts of 1's and 2's scanning for easy 'prey'. They prefer taking on Krakens, Sea Serpents, Leviathans, or rival Mertitan groups.
