Chapter 6 by Artican Artican

Is Melanie convinced to let Avery join the team?

Melanie exposes Avery

A slow clap came from Melanie’s side of the desk. The tall blonde stood up and put her hands together for the curvy redhead. “Bravo!” she praised.

Avery pulled herself off the rubber dong with a wet ‘pop’ and sat back on the table, not trusting her legs to carry her back to her seat.

“You proved to me that you’re not afraid to do what it takes to get what you want!” Melanie continued.

“So, am I in?” Avery asked trepidatiously.

Melanie smiled, “Yes you are! I believe you can really get things done and I look for that in my volunteers! Only, there is one thing I should disclose…”

Avery went cold, not sure where the other woman was going with this new information. She already felt exposed from her lack of clothes and now she felt even more ****. She gulped and waited for the blonde to reveal what she knew.

The show runner turned to her laptop and typed into it. She then turned the display so Avery could see. It was a picture of Avery in her natural brunette state. Her school listing was there including course enrollment, club associations and all extra curricular activities. Avery’s mouth went dry.

“Avery McKean, freshman student of journalism,” Melanie ran down. “GPA of 3.5, active junior reporter for the Olympia Herald…”

Avery was feeling very exposed now. She hugged her knees nervously as Melanie continued.

“Noted works include last month’s charity marathon where you placed 134th with a time of 5 hours, 12 minutes and 36 seconds. Congratulations, by the way!”

Avery gave a weak smile.

“Also, last winter’s culinary cook off, where you documented your practice session with Phi Delta Beta before their competition. The fall semester play of Twelfth Night where you picked up the small role of a background gentlewoman.” Melanie looked up from the screen and squinted her eyes at the girl on the desk. “I am sensing a pattern to your work…”

“So…” Avery started, not sure how to steer the conversation. “Does that mean I don’t get the job?”

Melanie smirked and said, “Oh, no! I was being honest in seeing your potential, Ms McKean. You have the makings of a very influential participant, only you should accept the fact that you won’t be writing a story about your experiences with us.”

Avery half chuckled at the conceit the woman had, thinking that she would be willing to join up just for the heck of it. “Why would I do that?” she asked. “I came here for that story and I’m not going to back down just because you know who I am.”

“I don’t doubt your tenacity, Avery, I’m just telling you what will happen. Once you have participated in a ‘hookup’, you won’t want to write about it.” Melanie explained.

Avery shook her head in defiance, “You saw what I did just to get in the door!” she scoffed, “I’m not ashamed to let others know about that!” Her legs had regained their strength and she stood up from the table to look the other woman in the eye. “Don’t think I’m afraid to go all the way if it means getting my story! I told you, I’m willing to do anything.”

Melanie smiled and brushed Avery’s cheek, admiring her innocence. She gave the junior reporter a knowing smile and said, “I’m sure you are.. And I’m not going to oppose you if you choose to tell the school about your exploits. It’s just...,” Melanie tilted her head and shrugged, “Once your story has played itself out, I’m willing to bet you will be more than happy to keep it to yourself.”

Avery didn’t know what Melanie was going on about, but it rubbed her the wrong way. The social science student was so confident in her prediction, that it felt like the game was somehow rigged. Melanie seemed cunning enough to pulls something which made Avery even more uneasy about going along with what puppetmaster wanted, but without continuing on, she had nothing more than getting off in front of a social science student..

The budding journalist folded her arms together and looked the organizer square in the eyes. “Alright, if you’re so confident…” she said, turning the wager to her advantage this time, “Say I do go through with the story. You give me a one on one interview about your dealings and lay everything out on the table.”

“I’m fine with that,” Melanie shrugged back as if it was no big deal. “You can have all access if you decide to publish. But… when you decide not to publish,” she smiled. “You can give me the right to put you on call of any future hookups.”

Avery nearly laughed out loud that gall of the woman. There was no way she would give up on her story, no matter what threats Melanie could come up with. She held out her hand and Mel shook it in agreement.

“So. Where do we begin?” Avery asked.

What does Melanie have planned for Avery?
