Meeting

The morning passed like Cyndi was in a fog. She barely remembered addressing a group of children, she hardly touched her lunch at the businesswoman's gathering, and her remarks to the woman's group were hurried and disconnected. Coming down from the podium Cyndi ran into her assistant, Marcie.

"Is everything alright?" Marcie took Cyndi's arm.

"Yes... just tired, I guess."

"Well, you don't have anything on your schedule until dinner with the Governor at the State House. There is a reception for party leaders. Why don't you get some rest."

"Yes... I will." Cyndi pulled away, looking for an elevator. It was 12:40.

Three minutes later she stood in front of the door to one of the hotel's finer suites: Room 1169. She hesitated...then knocked.

The door opened. A young man, well dressed, ushered her in without a work. As Cyndi entered, the young man left the suite, closing the door behind him.

The room was dark, the curtains drawn, the silence was maddening. The olny light came from the suite's second room - the bedroom.

"Right on time, good!" A strong male voice came from the other room. "Come in Cyndi."

Slowly, Cyndi walked across the room toward the light. Nervously, she entered. The large screen TV was on. Cyndi saw immediately that a video of her sexual encounter with the truckers was playing.

"You're a talented woman, Cyndi." Preston Forrest, her husband's chief political rival and a leader in the State Senate, was sitting in a large over-stuffed arm chair. "I'd wager the voters of the state would love to see the Governor's wife in action. Especially after the Governor ran on a platform of decency and family values.

"Please...." Cyndi began pleading.
