Meeting up with Em and Jane

I'd soon have to meet up with Em and Officer Miller for the first remaining tenant to get their camera removed. Before I went on with my day, I decided to check out the app, since I forgot about it yesterday. First of all, a trait on Gloria:

Holy shit that is a powerful trait! Like, I could tell her a lot of things and she'd just believe it. Donna's Oh so filthy trait was worth 400 points, so I got a new personal trait

Misplaced mistrust
Subjects that distrust the user will lower their submission scores when user shows to be trustworthy or otherwise undeserving of suspicion.

This seems awesome for the people I know that are in the high negatives. I wanted to look at my possible upgrades again. I had 465 points, so I was really close to being able to afford multiple. The new ones were:

Sex Machine II -> III (500 Total SP)
User can keep having sex for the biological limit (ca. 4 hours) at a time, will have to rest after. User can control when they orgasm.

Memory Manipulation -> Memory Customization (250 Total SP, final)
User can choose to 'lock' away certain memories of a subject, they only get unlocked through the app or by the user reminding the subject of what happened.

Willful ignorance -> Hopeful denial (250 Total SP, final)
Subjects no longer care about information about user, even if this would normally prevent them from acting differently. For example, a subject seeking a monogamous life will still want to enter a relationship with the user (if wanted), even if the subject knows that the user already has partner(s).

Price is halved.

Traitor in their lines II -> Protector of her people (500 Total SP, final)
Subject will protect anyone from problems that the user requests be protected/exempted.

Many good upgrades, but there were also the old ones. None of the 250SP ones seemed immediately useful, and I was nearly at 500 SP, so I decided to save for now.

Donna and I left her apartment, we hugged before she had to go to the office while I had to go to my mom's place. There, I met up with Em and Officer Miller.

Jane: "This apartment is the one I'm most interested in, as it is the closest to his home. We assume this is where the video was shot."

James: "Seems reasonable, yes."

As we approached the house, the young woman opened the door and was happy to see Officer Miller and Emily be with me. First, we entered her bedroom. With a bit of feedback from Officer Miller's colleagues in my mom's home, we found the camera. It was attached in basically the same way, so I quickly waved goodbye to Em. Officer Miller began questioning the woman, while I sent Em the grand for her removal services.

Jane: "Did you ever notice anything suspicious? Did you ever assume there was a camera?"

Woman: "No, it was very well hidden, I heard about it for the first time through the letter from the company."

Jane: "Has the owner of GRC ever shown up here, made any sexual advances on you?"

Woman: "Y-Yeah..." she looked defeated, and I probably did, too. Jane +2SP (-56SP) Oh right, my new personal trait. "Which reminds me, Mr. Goodman, what do you plan to do about this?"

James: "W-Well, right now my most immediate concern is removing these cameras. After that I will wait for the police investigation to conclude. In the past few days we have found more and more evidence or worse and worse crimes. So I'll wait until the police is finished to make an actual plan on what to do. But rest assured that I will organize some form of compensation for what you have gone through. I know it's nothing that can undo the harm you went through, but it's all that can be done. I'll try to align the compensation roughly with similar cases, where courts decided how high the compensation was to be. I hope that that way, everything will go as smoothly as possible." Woman: "So you just want to avoid lawsuits?"

James: "Well, in a way, yes, but I'm not doing it in dishonesty. You will get something similar to what a court would order, simply because I and the company don't deny what happened, we believe that was happened was wrong and there should be compensation for the victims, and also we want to avoid forcing the victims to lawyer up for just compensation. Legal proceedings are emotionally strenuous, especially in these cases." Jane +3SP (-46SP)

Jane: "He's right about that, Miss. I know that you're very angry right now, and you have every right to be, but as long as Mr. Goodman here and the GRC keep their promise, I don't think you'll have much to worry about."

The conversation continued until the afternoon, at which point Officer Miller and I left.

"Officer, my stomach is rumbling and I'm sure yours is, too. Is there any place you could recommend around here?"

"Well, I was planning to buy a hot dog at a stand just at the street corner there, they're pretty decent."

"Awesome, let's go then. I'll invite you."

"Mr. Goodman! I can't accept any gifts as a police officer, especially not from people, who's company I'm supposed to investigate. Besides, your company will likely need every cent at this rate. I hope for you and the city's housing market that the video was the last incriminating piece of evidence that we'll find." Jane +10SP (-36SP)

After we got our hotdogs, I asked Officer Miller, where she'd have to go next. "You told me about your neighbor as a witness. I'm going to her next."

"Could you take me with you? I need to go home, so I'll leave you alone with Klara after that."
