Meeting the first villain

The orcas had barely even arrived at the coast, or Kumiko and Selkie jumped off of them and walked towards the land.

“Hey, I’m sorry I was so hard toward your mom and you, Selkie. I’m… scared, you know.”

“Because it’s your family?”

Kumiko looked wide eyed, averted her gaze, and laughed, “was it that obvious?”

“Well, I’ve never seen you this nervous before. Figured something was up.”

There was a brief silence between the two, when Selkie continued, “look, I know I can’t get further than 100 feet, but I can surround the island with sealife. You know, making it hard for the villains to escape or at the very least we’ll know where they’d gone off to.

“Thanks, I truly appreciate it. Well, I’m off fighting my family’s kidnapper into the next century. Wish me luck.”

“I will, Magical Girl Kumiko. Give ‘em hell!” And with that, Kumiko ran into the jungle.

As she sprinted towards the castle, a shadow landed in front of her. “What! Why are you here?!” Asked Kumiko.
