Meeting the Neighbours and Settling In
The first thing of interest Viermaes found was an old stone tower on the lakeshore. She passed it by on her first trip, heading on to search through the forest, but returned there later to make a home after finding everything interesting in the forest.
Though the top half of the tower had fallen off, along with the complex machinery atop it, and landed in the lake, and the royal blue pennants were but tattered rags, and the stones were crumbling apart, the ground floor had endured the ravages of time.
She opened the door's lock with a charm, and headed inside. She found a bedroom, with a bed big enough for her, a storeroom (mostly empty and containing only rotten produce), and, most interestingly, a wizard's study.
Though it lacked reagents, the study contained many books on magic, both practical spell tomes and theoretical musings, as well as a selection of spell focuses and single-use runes. They covered many elements, but seemed focused on
(A1) fire.
(A2) water.
(A3) metal.
(A4) earth.
(A5) wood.
(A6) life.
(A7) ****.
Besides that, the tower held nothing of value, except perhaps the contents of the basement, which she couldn't reach.
With nothing left to do with the day, she settled in to her new home, passing a few hours by
(B1) clearing the surrounds and the storeroom.
(B2) conducting magical research.
(B3) simply relaxing.
Then, just as she was preparing to sleep, there was a knock at the door. Groggily, she headed over and opened it, to find...
(C1) A kobold sorcerer.
(C2) A kobold assassin.
(C3) An elf ranger.
(C4) An elf mage.
(C5) Something far stranger...
