On a hunch, you unequip sister's core. In a flash, the beautiful girl from before appears next to you and Anariel completely naked, although no tree is holding her back this time.

What Anariel says makes sense. But then, why those quests? From what you understand, both your twin sister's monster core and Anariel's soul were linked to you at the time of your conception. Why were those interactions necessary through your pro gamer HUD?

"That's because we still need to follow the rules to a certain extent, Rem. We can bend them a bit... well, a lot, but not avoid them." Carnachias answers you.

"The last quest is designed to create a synergy between your two realms. Both your dungeon and your apollyon domain. You will receive one last gift when you finish it. One third of your XP earned will go to each of us, your favourite goddesses sisters, and will give you one last cheat." Pharael informs you.

"You will have to reequip both items and activate them. As you may have noticed, they still appear on your HUD as part of your inventory."

Melanoche and her sisters are right. You still need to complete a quest and the sister's core and Guardian soul items are still in your inventory. Even if they are listed as unequipped.

You walk up to your sister and kiss her, doing the same with Anariel afterwards. Both are extremely different. Anariel is more loving while your sister is more sexual. Being what she is, it probably shouldn't surprise you, and she loves you in her own way anyway. Her monster core and yours are literally intertwined, so it's not like you can complain. Sighing, you equip both items and activate them, ready for whatever comes your way.
