Meet the Party

Eric sat down behind his DM screen ready to run today's session for the new group that hired him. It was a group of some friends who used to play together in college, but haven't played in a while due to real world commitments.

Kate was a geeky woman in her 30s who liked being a free spirit. She likes romantasy novels, but rarely got the nerve to flirt with guys in real life. Maybe it was a confidence thing, but she liked to think of herself as the Mother Hen of the group, helping everyone to keep on task.

Jen was a nerdy academic who became a kindergarten teacher. She had been dragged into gaming by Kate who thought it'd help her explore her writing and art. She's known in the group for taking notes and sometimes drawing art of what happened in the sessions.

Zack is an eccentric anime fan who got into wargaming in college. He joined the group when he heard Kate and Jen talking about trying to start a group. He had miniatures and offered to paint one up for all the player's characters. He is known as a creative puzzle solver.

Alex is a bit of a loner who got swept up into the game when trying to make friends in college. Since school he's not kept in touch with many people, except the group. He's often on his phone looking at reddit or playing a video game while he waits his turn. The group invited him back to help him get out of his shell and be more social. During games he's usually a good source of humor by sharing memes or making references to pop culture.
