Chapter 4 by Jacki_parks Jacki_parks

What questions does the doctor ask?

Medical history

“Alright then, is there any major medical history I should know about?” He asked first.

“Well,” Nancy began, “it’s slightly embarrassing, but my daughters and I suffer from a hormonal imbalance. All the women in my family do, it’s genetic.”

“I assume you are all taking medications for that?”

“Yes, pills every day,” Nancy replied.

“There is an experimental new injection that only needs to be given once and is reported to your hormone levels normal. Although the first month the level is higher than normal for a woman, but it balances out. Would you or your daughters care for this route?”

Nancy looked at her daughters who both nodded their heads. The doctor wasn’t paying attention and didn’t notice John staring off into space.

“Yes,” Nancy responded, “we would definitely like to try that! What was that you said about our levels being higher?”

“It’s nothing really, just higher than normal. The only real problem is if your levels are so low, it would be like going through puberty again, mood swings, breast and hip growth, increased sex drive.”

“We are all part that point in our lives I believe,” Nancy laughed.

What followed were standard questions, all of which Nancy answered for everyone.

“Ok, just a quick blood sample and then it’s separate exam rooms for your physicals.”
