Chapter 5

Blood work results or physical exam
Why not both?
After the blood was drawn, it was sent to the lab for analysis. Each sample was process and a print out was produced.
Nancy’s bloodwork showed no abnormalities as did Jenny’s. However, both Joanie and John’s blood showed lower levels of estrogen, with John’s being substantially low.
Stronger doses of the new hormone treatment were recommended for both, with John being singled out for a new experimental, permanent hormonal implant. Once implanted in the recipients body, it permanently attaches itself to the adrenal gland. This is done to prevent the implant from migrating to other parts of the body.
Having read the reports, the doctor signed off on the treatment plans, noting that the lower levels of hormones in John probably explained her lack of breast development, although she did appear feminine.
As John waited, a nurse came into the room with several syringes.
“What are those for?”
Not wanting to upset the poor girl in front of her, the nurse simply replied “vitamin injections.”
Meanwhile, an intern, who was having a very bad day, had already finished examining Nancy and the 2 girls, simply took John’s blood pressure and temp and told him to get dressed.
Filling out their respective medical charts, he simply concluded that since the first 3 women were almost identical in physical aspects, the fourth must also be, and just copied information, including a vaginal exam, into John’s chart.
