Chapter 7 by HenryKajitani HenryKajitani

What did Lucy find?

Meager options for light

The wooden stairs creaked as Lucy made her way back to ground level. She shivered at the cold air against her skin. The lack of windows in the kitchen made it a struggle to see.

It wasn't long before she found her soaked apron, although she was **** to remove her hands covering her body.

She fumbled to the sink, wringing as much water from the apron as she could. The fabric wasn't dry, but she still wasn't willing to get her jeans wet.

Lucy tied the apron back, the damp canvas sticking to her skin. When she moved, the abrasive feeling on Lucy's nipples made her blush.

Now all she needed was some kind of light to find her way around the basement.

Scouring the kitchen drawers and cabinets, Lucy found a stick lighter, "Not my first choice..."

Her search for a proper flashlight led her to the front of the diner. Even with the restaurant closed, Lucy was hesitant to sneak into the expansive room. The open windows made her anxious. She kept one hand on her rear as if it hid her.

Rain pattered against the vast windows while Lucy searched the room for anything that could help her.

Returning to the less exposed kitchen, she glanced around for anything she might have missed. It finally occurred to her that she should check the office.

Lucy realized the obvious option she had all along. Her phone sitting on the desk would make a decent flashlight. That is if it weren't old and buggy.

Sadly, Lucy's phone refused to leave the flash on, only blinking for an instant when she took a photo. Not to mention that her phone wasn't doing too hot on battery, not even 20% left.

She couldn't find any sign of another light in the office.

Was she willing to waste precious phone battery on this? And the lighter in the kitchen was still an option, even if it was dim.

What does Lucy do?
