Maybe there's still time

Your eyes open to a dim haze. You can't see anything, which isn't alarming on its own, until you remember that you should be able to see in the dark now. Maybe there's some grit in your eyes, so you try to reach toward your face, only to find your arms stuck fast. In a panic, you thrash - your entire body is bound - and then the realization of your predicament rushes back to you.

"Calm down, Sabine, and think." You whisper to yourself, you focus on your training. You had the presence of mind to tuck your sword against your body, and you can still feel its reassuring weight in your hands. You don't begin cutting right away... you remember that you were dragged up into the trees and are suspended some distance above the ground. You need to take your time, and be careful. There's plenty of ways for your escape plan to go wrong. In your haste, you could cut yourself free only to plummet to your ****. If you attract to much attention, the spiders could be back upon you. If you make a mistake, it might cost you valuable time.

Realizing all of the threats, you clear your mind and focus on the task at hand. As a paladin you were trained to accept **** as a possibility at any moment. You have no intention of dying here, but neither can you allow the fear of **** to affect your work. You steady your breathing and begin to saw with the blade, slowly, trying to just open a little more space to work with.

The web is strong, but edge of the holy sword is honed to perfection. You're able to cut an opening for your legs, and like slicing through a seam, it wouldn't take much more effort to slit the rest of the webbing. Instead, you ease one foot through the cut, wrapping your leg around the web itself as a foothold. Then you slowly enlarge the cut, freeing more and more of your body. It doesn't entirely unravel and spit you to the ground as you feared it might, but you're glad for the foothold you found.

It's only a matter of time before you're able to climb back up the same web that trapped you onto its supporting branch. You were always one of the more athletic girls among the paladin novitiates, and climbing was never very challenging for you, what with your slender frame. The hardest part is hauling yourself up with your sword in hand.

Perched upon the thick limb of the tree, you survey your surroundings looking for any sign of the monstrous nest where Indra would have been taken. You remember she was close enough before that you could hear her, so you listen again now. Sure enough, you hear faint whimpers nearby.

"So full..." You recognize the pleasure in her moans.

"Yess, full of eggss. Like a good sslut." Your stomach flops. Then, he's already finished...? "Ready to fertilize?" Wait... so he's not finished? Maybe you can still stop this!

"Yes! Breed me! Fertilize me! Just don't stop!" The words wouldn't normally disturb you if not for their ultimate consequences. Fortunately, you're able to follow Indra's louder cries and finally spot the nest. It's a couple of trees away - hardly any distance at all for a spider, but for a ground-dweller like yourself, it'll take a good amount of balance to navigate the branches, and at least one precision leap.

It won't do anyone any good if you make a misstep here, but you're running out of time.
