Chapter 10

Time to fight?
Maybe. Probably not
They were approaching like a big, loud cats, their intention to strike clear, but coming in slow, finding that perfect point to strike. Mark with his weapon lifted, ready to swat them like flies, Kaliasi behind him, totally not cowering in fear and pale on her face.
And just when the battle was about to strike, somewhere in the back of these creatures, someone shouted:
"Stop, heathens, by the name of the holy Big-Giant head!"
Mark moved his eyes onto that person.
She was wearing an a black and silver armor, with golden stripes on her sleeves. It was very angular and by Marks standards - very tacky. The human did notice that she was humanoid, her knees bent the right way, and she was shorter than him by at least a foot, even with the weird heels that her armor had.
Her hair, short, stylised to the right side, and white like a sheet of paper. No, she wasn't old, or at least didn't seem old, her face looked rather young. She almost looked human with the exception of a few visible features.
Her ears were long, like an angular shaped half discs. Her eyes were completely white, no other colour, which honestly creeped Mark out more than the ears. The front of her neck was exposed and it was hard to guess whether she had some sort of gold and white ornament in there that was tracing along the different bones below, or was it a part of her body. Oh, and her skin was white with a hint of gold. That gold seemed to spread whenever she moved, like a dust in the air, only to disappear a few seconds after she passed.
"Careful, she is a Sandanian."
Kaliasi whispered.
"Who?"
"Shit, I forgot you are a primitive. Fucking learn some galactic basics already."
Mark, previously fixated at the enemies and their - what seemed like - leader, turned his head to Kaliasi.
"When was I supposed to learn that?"
The woman scoffed at him.
"You had plenty of time when we were running."
"Running?!" Mark fully turned to Kaliasi now. "How?!"
"Through your implant."
"What implant! I don't have any!"
She just shook her head.
"You have on your hand."
"That's an implant? It isn't even in my body." He raised his arm.
"Just because it isn't attached to your body it doesn't mean it doesn't interact with you. After all, it enables us to talk, otherwise I'd only hear some Sakaar noises."
"What's a Sak-. Don't answer that." Mark changed his mind.
Then, annoyed once more with his companion turned to the new woman. The Sandanian.
"Tell me you won't bash me constantly for not knowing any better or being a primi-..."
"Silence, primitive!"
She interrupted him.
"God damn it."
"I find you guilty of escaping your holding cell, and destroying one of our guards, causing havoc throughout the facility! And you just killed one of the guards! He was two cycles away from retirement! What do you have to say for your defence? Can you even defend yourself?"
Mark looked at his weapon.
"I mean I can..."
"She means verbal ones." Kaliasi whispered.
"I know... Okay, lady-".
"You shall address me as a knight commander Fio te Bialessa." She stated with her voice all high and mighty.
"Okay, Fio, I-"
"Full name or rank, heathen, or by the holy Big-Giant head, I will disintegrate you!" Fio looked pissed to the point that she could probably back her threat with actions.
"Okay, knight commander." Mark hissed. "There is a fucking monster in this facility, hunting, killing, destroying shit. Probably very, very close. If you want to deal with that, be my guest, but we're fucking off."
A moment of silence followed.
"Be... Your guest?"
She asked, not understanding.
"Yes, now we should all really run."
The was a loud knock coming from the other side of the airlock, like a massive **** began probing it.
"But why your guest? If anything, you are my guest in here. I'm a knight commander of this prison... You, Alearan, explain his behaviour!" She turned to Kaliasi.
"He speaks like that all the time, knight commander." She said. "He is a primitive, remember."
"But... Primitives shouldn't know the advanced verbal expressions."
"This one does. He is weird." The red skinned alien shrugged.
"That's all cool, but we should really, really run." Mark tried getting through to commander once more.
"Agreed."
Another loud knock, this one they could feel the vibrations in the floor coming off from it.
"But..." Fio was confused.
"Didn't you hear us?!"
THUMP
The airlock cracked in half and just fell on the ground, the bent metal around it signified the amount of **** used to destroy it. Mark could see the horror painting on the knight commanders face when she saw it, and he wasn't the type to waste time looking back and inspecting the creature. Instead, he grabbed Kaliasi by her hand, and began to run. She didn't resist.
And from the sounds that followed when they were running - the guards, and possibly the knight commander didn't really resist either.
Where to?
