Is this REALLY as easy at it seems? Pretty lousy opsec, if you ask me.
Maybe? Maybe not? You suddenly find yourself with bigger crises to manage.
You had a bit of an issue with the biblical verses at first, as it turns out they weren't using any of the normal texts. You'd figured that they'd probably have used the KJV, the Nova Vulgate, or perhaps the NASB. You know, bibles people might recognize.
Nope. After trying out steadily more obscure translations, you'd decided that they'd chosen the Codex flippin' Sinaiticus, as far as you could tell. Even though some of the references fell square into the missing portions, and you'd had to logic out what the missing letters could possibly be. Even though it was in flippin' Greek. But at least, you'd managed to build a URL out of the results, one that took you to the Dark Web. You really hadn't expected that you'd need to figure out TOR for this, but... Well, it made sense. If a demon worshipper was in the NSA or something, they didn't want to be tracked that way, right?
But, before you could check the site and figure out whether there was a 50-problem theology quiz you'd have to puzzle out to earn their help... Another little text message pops up on your laptop.
Maya, meet us at Ms. Devlin's office, Taylor messaged you, It's an emergency.
Elizabeth and I were attacked by a demon.
