Chapter 13

Could Drako handle this foe?
Maybe… Maybe not…
As Drako stood across from Levis, the Dragonsbane, for the first time in his life, Drako felt fear. It was obvious that this enemy was innately opposite him, probably the only entity in the entire hemisphere he was in that could truly harm Drako.
Or at least the Dragon aspect of Drako’s being, which was a major portion of him… But not all of him, as he reached a scaled arm, but a remarkably unscaled hand, of absurd size landed upon the Dragon hilted sword’s blade, gripping down with immense pressure, enough to not only slice through his own hand, but enough to stop the sword in it’s tracks.
And in that single moment of reprieve, Drako wound back his other hand back, and released a mighty punch to the skull of the enemy standing before him, protected by a golden helm as it was, the strike rang true, denting the helmet with **** of the punch, and sending the helm flying across the hall, revealing the visage of the previously perfectly concealed figure. And what Drako saw underneath shocked him.
Suddenly unwound, a head of luscious blonde hair was revealed, and began billowing out, falling from the braid it was in, nearly reaching down to the stone floor, as Levis abruptly, and ruthlessly tore the sword from Drako’s hand, with a mighty splash of steaming blood flying out, before, apparently, she swung the sword once more, with Drako just barely dodging the strike.
And Drako was only slightly perturbed, Levis hadn’t sounded like a woman’s name, but regardless, what he saw was the beautiful face of a human woman, nearly seven feet tall, and an expression of fierce anger on her visage, openly hostile to his very being. So, Drako did the only thing he could think of. He spoke to her…
“Why are you attacking me?” A simple question, in a near despondent voice, as Drako stood tall before Levis.
In response, Levis looked at him with an odd gaze, before asking, “Do you not feel what I feel? The sheer aura of your being, it reeks of… Something that’s the antithesis of me… So I can’t allow you to live.”
Drako was absurdly surprised, as he cried out, “So it’s not because this is a Dungeon?”
He’d spoken too much, as Levis suddenly cried out herself, “This is a Dungeon!? THOSE monsters were the Dungeons defense?”
Feeling slightly insulted, and a tad petty, Drako called out in response, “No, Levis Dragonsbane Embersmite, these are.” And he snapped his fingers.
And a single second later, hundreds of golems, all towering over Levis, sprang to life, with plenty more making their way through the countless tunnels surrounding them, shocking Levis immensely, as she'd thoroughly felt through countless statues for signs of life, no matter how magical, and she hadn’t caught even a whiff, but now, they were crawling with magical energy, each and every one being filled with enough mana to power them for countless years, at the very least.
“Why didn’t you call them out earlier? Would’ve made it a lot easier for you…” A snarky tone came from the mouth of Levis, as she smiled a grim smile, before sheathing her sword, then, in a far more reasonable tone than before, she spoke to him, “Well, if you truly were seeking my life, they wouldn’t have stopped where they are, now would they…? How’d you know my name?”
Drako, only slightly at ease, especially aware of the danger this woman posed, he responded, “Well, when you entered the Dungeon, it told me you’d invaded… It didn’t have any snarky words, or funny challenges, its words were quite simple…” Drako stopped for a moment, hesitant to speak further, but he did anyway, “You’d kill me with ease, leave me and mine dead in this cold, cold cavern… The only objective I was given was one I already had, but I never knew how deadly it really was.’
Levis was slightly confused, as she asked simply, “The Dungeon speaks…? What did it say?”
Drako, suddenly solemn, looked down, before training his gaze on Levis, as he answered her, “It told me to live… To simply SURVIVE my encounter with you, and live on… Maybe in peace, maybe not… But, to live, all the same…”
Levis, equally solemn in response to his words, suddenly cleared her throat, before speaking in a far softer tone than before, “You said you and yours, who were you speaking of?”
Drako, in response, simply opened a door beside him, shocking Levis, as he simply walked through nothing, a flat passageway, utterly obscured from view at her current position, as she rushed over to where he’d disappeared, finding a shimmering, blue doorway, and a quite beautiful Orc woman standing in wait beside a throne, sword drawn and at the ready to defend, but Drako stopped her, spoke a few soft nothings into her ear, before inviting Levis in.
"Come on in…”
