Who is Batgirl investigating for?

Matthew Murdock

"I'm investigating for Matt Murdock, a lawyer in New York. He gave us a tip that the League of Assassins might be working with the Hand, and that Penguin's involved somehow, so I'm chasing down leads," explained Barbara.

"Murdock. I know him," Felicia mentioned. "I've actually even hired him a few times. He's a good guy... for a lawyer."

"The League of Assassins and the Hand, working together... honestly, I'm kinda surprised it took this long," Selina thought out loud. "What do you think they're after?"

"Could be a number of things," Batgirl answered. "It's possible they're trying to consolidate power in the Gotham or New York underworlds... maybe both. They've also both been trying to establish a foothold in Madripoor for years -- maybe they plan an alliance to accomplish that."

"Uh-huh. And if there is some sort of alliance going on, who would be behind it? Do the League and the Hand both have new leaders now I don't know about?" Selina wondered.

"We're still looking into that, but my hunch is that Talia's involved, at least on the League's side," Batgirl theorized. "She 'officially' disbanded them after taking that board position at LexCorp, but I never really bought the idea that she was ever truly done with them."

"I see... and you were expecting to find some sort of connection in all this expensive, gaudy crap Cobblepot was going to use to decorate his little club?"

"Honestly, no," Barbara admitted. "This was just one lead of many. I figured if I found anything here, it'd be on one of those thugs you two took out."

"Hmmmm. Well, I *might* be able to help with that," Felicia said, taking out a flash drive she'd found on a guard and handing it to Batgirl. "I was planning on looking at it for any info I could sell, but it seems like it'll be more fun if I give it to you."

"Mmm-hmm. Were you planning on telling me about that?" Selina wondered.

Felicia grinned coyly and shook her head. "Isn't our relationship a lot more fun when there's a little mystery?"

"Definitely. It's why I would've done the same thing," Selina grinned back.

"I'd roll my eyes, but this actually helps me a lot," Barbara admitted. "Thanks, Felicia... oh my god, it's actually labeled 'Lazarus Pit info'... even if this thing's a decoy, that's the dumbest label I've ever seen."

"Cobblepot never did hire the smartest help," Selina observed. "You think you can get anything out of that?"

"Oh, I can definitely get something out of this," Barbara said confidently. "I take it you two are going to want to know what I find?"

Felicia nodded. "Well, you *do* owe me, Red."

Barbara sighed. "Fine, I'll call you when I have something. I take it you'll be joining me in following this up?"

"Oh, I'll be there," Felicia said with a flirtatious grin. "I'm *dying* to get to know you better."

"Count me in, too," Selina added. "Working with *both* of you sounds like too much fun to pass up."

"All right. I'll get started on this right away. In the meantime, you two do whatever it is you two do after you steal something... which I'm guessing involves handcuffs or paddles or whatever," Barbara remarked.

"Hmmmm. Care to join us and find out for yourself?" Felicia said in an inviting tone. "You can always analyze that drive later..."

"I'll pass, Felicia," Barbara declined. Although she wouldn't admit it, she couldn't help but be a little intrigued by the offer... "This Hand-League of Assassins thing? Kind of important."

"Fair enough, hon... but we'll get you into our bed one of these days," Selina said with a wink. "How long do you think you can resist *both* of us?"

"Oh god, you're right... there's *two* of you now..." Barbara realized. And Selina had a point -- there was an attraction between them. Right now, though, Batgirl had other matters to attend to. "I'd better get going. I'll let you two know when I have something."

As Barbara sped off on her motorcycle, Felicia sighed, slightly disappointed. "Too bad she's not coming home with us. I get the feeling she'd be tons of fun to play with. I can tell she's interested..."

Selina hooked her arm around Felicia's waist. "I don't think we'll be waiting too long, lover. Besides, when it comes to girls like that, the chase is half the fun, isn't it?"

"That's true. And this'll be a hell of a chase," Felicia grinned, kissing Selina lewdly. "Now, let's get home and make good use of those handcuffs and paddles Batgirl was talking about."
