It started as a spigot - an application here and there. Then it was a slow steady flow of work. But now, it was all the firm could do to handle and process the flood of applications from African refugees to settle in South Carolina and its neighbors. The lawyers assumed there had to be some end to it, but they were all supported by high paying jobs from an unknown Middle Eastern benefactor.
Beta Beta Chi flourished, being perhaps the largest informal gathering of woman at a handful of universities in the southeast. There, local wives and then outsiders and then the in-crowd all spread the same messages. Perhaps coincidentally, more mosques ended up being constructed in those towns, and more private education for the offspring of those attendees.
