Mary stops him

Before John's lascivious paw could disappear beneath her skirt Mary shot a trembling hand down and took him by the wrist. "Typical Man trying to take without asking." Mary chastised hoping John would not notice the lack of conviction in her voice.

John's face blushed a deep crimson. "I'm sorry. You're so beautiful I acted without thinking."

"Right," Mary replied only half believing John. "Still you should have asked permission. It's not polite to assume a lady wants to be fondled."

"Please forgive me," John asked with sincerity his eyes beginning to tear up.

Mary leaned over and gave John a peck on the cheek.

"I'll let you slide this time." Then Mary added playfully. "Though a word of advice. Next time use some sweet words and make certain your sister is more than two feet away. That just might help your cause."

John smiled at the promise that all hope was not lost as Mary leaned her head against the window and fell asleep.
