The Kingdoms:

Avona

The kingdom of Avona is a peaceful farming kingdom that generally doesn’t seek out conflict. In inter-kingdom struggles, Avona usually relies on Farron’s superior military strength, as the two kingdoms are closely allied. The current Avonan queen’s sister is wedded to the current Farronic king. Borders Aysia, and has a rather healthy population of Aysians along the western cities and towns of Avona, though eastern Avona still sees them as quite a unique sight.

Illian

The kingdom of Illian is historically a weak one, but their current king is power-hungry, and the kingdom’s logging focus has shifted more into militaristic operations. No one is quite sure what the king is up to, only that he is amassing soldiers, weapons, and other wartime equipment. Illian has a healthy trade relationship with Mersa and Cerandor, but no concrete alliances.

Remalia

The kingdom of Remalia is known for its’ cheery spirit and loose rules. The king of Remalia is infamous for his parties and orgies, and the Cerandoran queen is rumored to be a frequent attendee. Not socially accepting of taboos and nudity like Aysia is, but they also generally ignore such depravities being committed, making it quite a good hideaway for those of deplorable morals. The southern part especially is full of the morally questionable. Sparrow Bay divides Remalia from its’ capital, the island paradise of Ogea.

Cerandor

The kingdom of Cerandor is quite large, and serves generally as the hub for the eight kingdoms’ politics. While not the largest in land mass, Cerandor is the most densely populated kingdom, and so the meetings between the eight monarchs take place here. A wealthy kingdom, the king has broken down the territory into seventeen counties, each ruled by a court vassal. Rumors fly constantly that the Cerandoran queen, of marriage not birth, is frequently absent because of her alleged frequent visits to the Remalian king’s infamous parties on the island of Ogia.

Elond

The smallest of the eight kingdoms, Elond is a prosperous mining kingdom dominated by huge mountains that sit along their border with Remalia and Cerandor. Home to the dwarves, a reclusive race who thrive underground. The dwarves work with the Elondians to improve mining processes, and expect very little share of the rewards, only suitable space underground for their living space. Home of the famous Dwarvish Kingdom, an entirely subterranean kingdom that is actually very impressively built, though it is said no man can survive a week down there without going mad.

Aysia

The kingdom of Aysia is an outlier from the other seven kingdoms which are generally quite forested and plentiful in natural resources. Aysia is a desert kingdom with cities built around deep pools of water that were discovered dispersed nearly at random throughout the kingdom. Aysia is by far the largest kingdom, stretching well off of all known maps. No one has found the edge of the desert yet, as it gets hotter and hotter, and more deadly, the further away from the other seven kingdoms you go. Home to the Aysian people, a race of coppery skinned humans who are well known for their sexual promiscuousness and lax social norms about what qualifies as ‘dressed’. Many Aysian people are perfectly comfortable nude in public.

Mersa

The kingdom of Mersa is an oceanic kingdom, and home to the populous Otori Peninsula, a hotspot for merchants from foreign lands. Mersa recognizes no monarch, and is a land governed by the marketplaces. A figurehead sits on the throne, but they hold no power, all of the power is held by a cabal of the wealthiest merchants, who have declared themselves Lords and Ladies of Mersa. The Mersan people are generally rather unreliable, unless you pay them for their efforts. A diverse collection of cultures exist here, due to the merchants from distant lands.
