Boy Talks To Man

Man Asks The Boy The Real Question!

Great, ever open your mouth and then get the distinct impression that you weren't wanted by anyone. Well that was how I was feeling as I made my way outside to apologize to Mr. Webber. I just closed the door behind me when I spotted Mr. Webber, about ten feet between the cabin and his car, standing there smoking a cigarette.

I started to go towards him when he turned his head to look directly at me. Even as the distance between us diminished, I could tell that Mr. Webber was pissed at something, probably at me.

“I was about to say Something when Mr. Webber let me know what was on his mind.

“So when did you plan to tell me that you were fucking my daughter?"

"The ‘King Of Stupid Talking’ spoke up, “Pardon me she wasn’t wearing a name tag, saying property Of Mr. Owen Webber” When we hooked up after a fraternity party before graduation!”

Mr. Webber balled his hands into fists and went to swing at me, but I backed up a few steps. Quickly, I said something to him, “Well that seems to be two things I have to apologize for saying out loud!” But before i could form the words, Mr. Webber spoke up.

“No, I should be apologizing to you!” Then he stepped closer to me “Lynn used to tell me everything going on in her life, but over the last year she seemed to be telling me less and less.”

He surprised me by coming within a foot of me and holding out his hand to me. “I should be thrilled that she found someone that she felt comfortable with, sharing things with, that is she does tell you things doesn’t she?”

“Probably as much as my mom tells you!” I didn’t know if I should but I reached out my hand and grasped his, closing my hand and shaking his before he could take his hand back.

“I think I can understand where your feelings are coming from, you are worried about sharing your mother with someone not your natural father, god rest his soul!”

I was at a loss for words, how do I respond without compromising how I’m feeling? Then I decide to suck it up and tell how I’m feeling.

“You’re right, I don’t want to share her with someone else, just like you’re not willing to share your daughter with someone else.

That’s when he hit me with the last thing I expected to hear from him.

“So tell me Jim, How can we do that?”

How!
