"Shhh." Nora tried to calm her fellow students, but it came out with a low buzz. "We got out. We're all safe now. There's no reason to be afraid."

"Nora, put us down!" Aaralon continued his futile resistance.

Considering Aaralon sacrificed her to the wasp, Nora wasn't sure that was the best idea. She had her mind toyed with till she loved something so vile, and changed into much the same creature.

However, if she was now the same as Zhree, she could make Aaralon hers. The boy was a talented, handsome mage. Nora had had fantasies about him back at the college, some even surpassing the one the wasp had given her.

The problem was the hallucination would mean he'd think she was someone else. Nora thought maybe magic would be better. At the moment, neither human in her arms could cast spells, but Aaralon's will could be enough to resists the simple love spells Nora knew from gossip and girlish curiosity.
