Make a run (swim) for it!

This will probably be your only chance to escape the confines of this beast! You can't believe it had you under its spell of pleasure temporarily. Just looking down at the tentacle hovering before you now completely repulses you. You use your free hand to yank your trapped hand free, and lift your feet up, sliding the looped tentacles off your ankles. The tentacle wrapped around your stomach is a little tighter, but still loosened enough in its distracted state for you to slowly wiggle your way out.

You're free! You quickly swim a small distance away and turn to look at the tentacles. They are slowly and weakly attempting to locate you and regain their grasp, and you shudder at the image of yourself trapped within their confines. You have no idea how much time you have before the monster realizes you've escaped, so you swim as quickly as you can towards the wall on the other side of the well. When you first took account of your surroundings after falling in the well, you thought you spotted something different-looking over there. Unfortunately, the faint lighting present makes it impossible to be sure. You'll be taking a chance, but it's the only chance you've got.

You hear the water behind you making noise, and you stop and turn around. The tentacles are starting to stir! The single tentacle containing the glowing red eye is slowly starting to brighten. The monster must be coming to its senses! You spin back around and continue your escape!

As you get closer to the wall, you realize why the wall looked different. This section has metal rungs built into it! They don't appear to be in great condition, but you're obviously **** at this point. Once again, the lack of light makes it so you can't see how high they go. You're hoping not too far, as your struggles from the clutches of the tentacle monster and lack of nourishment has you feeling weak. You quickly start to pull yourself out of the water, ascending up the cold, rough rungs. You haven't checked on the mass of tentacles, but you can hear the water sloshing and churning behind you, and it seems to be getting louder. Just as you make it up the first four rungs, you hear a huge splash, and feel drops of water hit against your back. The splash is followed by a huge screechy roar that chills you to the bone. You take a quick look over your shoulder and see a large blob that has surfaced in the water. The only reason you can see it is because there are dozens of identical eyes floating around inside the slimy mass, and they're all glowing an intense red color, like the single eye that had investigated your presence earlier. The only other feature of the blob you can make out is a gigantic beak, similar to a squid's beak. The bright eyeballs bathe the beak in an angry red light, displaying rows and rows of razor-sharp teeth. You don't need a communication tentacle on your forehead to know that the beast is furious. Once again, you continue your ascention as quickly as you can, hoping that the beast will not be able to get to you in time.
