Maia finds a quiet spot to practice the techniques she learned from her Mentor

Maia was in the Training Grounds once again. As she began cycling her Ri, she began her decomposition phase. Her Ri ripped itself apart over and over again, becoming infinitesimally small. Her Ri passed through her surroundings, although there was a constant tugging sensation as her Ri built up in spots, interacting with the physical world.

She teeters on the edge of the meditative state required for advanced techniques, never able to hold on for very long. It just kept slipping and slipping away, eroding her confidence with every failed attempt. Her anger began to boil over, desperation kicking into overdrive.

Her Ri thickened while still submerged in the ground, tearing through the soil and rock as though there were air.

Accidentally thickening her Ri to such a degree exhausted everything she had. Her forearms began to sting from over-exhaustion, her breaths were short and labored as she lay in a heap on the ground.

Although physically exhausting her, it did have the side effect of leaving her mind completely free.

A few moments later, Maia was able to catch her breath and flip onto her back. Although her body was nearly empty, her minuscule amounts of Ri left were swirling, her mind resting in the meditative state.

More than a fleeting moment passed, as her mind retained its state. It surpassed the six second mark which was her previous longest.

Her breaths were deep now. In and out, slowly picking herself up off of the ground.

Her Ri begins returning as she increases speed of her Ri, the added velocity decomposing the Ri even further.

Exiting the meditative state was trivially easy, Maia had discovered. Just focus on any emotion hard enough to let it consume your consciousness.

She looked at the dark sky for the first time in hours. The moonlight had illuminated her training area for some time now, although this was the first time Maia had really acknowledged it's presence.

Maia returned home for the night.
