Chapter 11
by sexybjgal69
Madeline could lie or be honest.
Madeline Lies
It is best to keep up the appearance of non-vault dwelling travelers. Who knows what this NCR might do if they knew the location of the vault. Madeline decides to lie.
“We aren’t tribals, we come from a small farmstead south west of here. We are in a valley and well concealed from most of the outside world. But we have fallen on hard times and father says that we need to get a piece of pre-war technology from a vault north of here to keep some of the power and water going.”
He relaxes his stance and seems to buy the story, or maybe he just wants to help.
“Well that would explain why you don’t sound like everyone else or why you don’t know what the hell is going on.” He smiles.
“The only vault I know of is Vault 21 up in New Vegas. Its along ‘The Strip.’”
Madeline’s eyes brighten up “You know the location of a vault!?”
“Sure most people do. Anyone and everyone has heard of Vault 21. You gotta be careful though getting into New Vegas can be tricky.”
Lieutenant Hayes explains the geo-political situation of the region, the struggle of the NCR and the Legion, the use of bottle caps as currency, mentions the fading Brotherhood of Steel, and the powerful Mr. House with his army of automatons. Lieutenant Hayes spends great details on helping you map out a course but suggests that going north will risk Powder Gangers, while going all the way eastward will lengthen the trip and that Madeline and her group runs the risk of meeting Legion raiding parties along the way. At some point Madeline and her group will have to make a decision on how to get to “New” Vegas.
After some time he realizes that he has other duties to attend to.
“I am afraid I must be going now Miss Blackwater. The soldiers here have to be kept in order.”
