Chapter 185 by legolus legolus

What's next?

Mad Cow-Girls

Laura gripped the bed sheets as Mark’s tongue went deeper into her. Mark had his arms wrapped around each of her thighs, with her legs wrapped around his head. Mark didn’t stop after the first time she orgasmed. Telling her, “Laura, I want you to know how much I appreciate you.” She was surprised to see Mark’s changes after he copied her Amazonian TF. She assumed he would have bulked out like a bodybuilder, but he hadn’t. His muscles became more defined but not larger. His strength was another story. He was able to move her around as if she were weightless now. Laura had stopped keeping count of the number of orgasms she had had after it hit double digits.

Laura climaxed again, convulsing slightly in pleasure. Mark finally withdrew his forked tongue from her and gently set her down. Mark lay down beside her and pulled her into an embrace. When Laura’s mind cleared from the euphoric haze she was in, she couldn’t help but think. That tongue of his, like this, is fantastic. I love his dick, but the way his forked tongue feels is so good. I bet Sam’s would feel the same way. Laura found Mark’s tail wrapped around her legs. Not taking her head off his chest, Laura said, “Hey Mark, we should probably get going.”

“Yeah, probably.” He didn’t move, still holding Laura firmly against himself.

“Are you going to let me go, or are you planning on us going another round?”

“I think Allie would get annoyed if we took too much longer.”

“You’ve still not taken your arm from around me.”

Mark kissed the top of her head and reluctantly removed his arm and tail from around her. Laura slinked out of bed and stretched, then conjured her clothes from the laurels on her head. “I can’t believe you’re actually stronger than me like that and not by a little bit either.”

“I can. I had enhanced strength as a dragon, add even more on top of it, and yeah, I can believe I’m stronger. I’m not sure if I get your main path effects or not, so maybe I wouldn’t be stronger without being a dragon.”

“Hmm… well, I like it. I’ve said it before, I like my men to be manly, and damn. You would be beating off women with a stick. Even if the horns, tail, scales, and your eyes aren’t everyone’s thing.”

“Yeah, I know. When I went on my date with Ellen, I realized that there were a lot of eyes on me. I’m not really sure how many were because Ellen was on my arm, and how many were checking me out, but some of them definitely were looking at me with lust. It was a new feeling, being openly gawked at, like that.”

“Well, get used to it. You have three famous girlfriends now.”

“How did you know about Ellen?”

“Um… That’s a good question.” Laura seemed perplexed. “I just assumed maybe?”

“Why would you assume that? We only actually established that right before the party.”

“Huh…” Laura looked pensive. “I think it might be because she is a worshiper of mine. That or that as a Goddess of Desire, I can just tell these things now.”

“Plausible,” Mark said, getting up and getting dressed.

“Hang on a second, Mark, Ellen is contacting me.” After a minute. Laura nodded but frowned.

“Laura, what’s wrong?”

“Mark, you had a conversation with Chloe as Mary. Ellen was present, and Chloe promised to tell you the truth for a time. According to her, Sadie didn’t ask her for permission to ask you out.”

Mark sighed, “I was afraid of that.” Mark was grimacing.

“Mark… I feel I should tell you that Sadie pointed out a flaw in our method.”

“What?”

“Sadie pointed out that it wouldn’t be a lie for Chloe to say what she believes is the truth.”

Mark considered that. “Yeah, but is that seriously something you think Chloe would forget?”

“Probably not, but this morning when I told her that Ellen contacted me, she asked if I could get a message to Mary about asking Chloe questions. She also knew about getting a promise from Chloe to tell the truth. She clearly wants to resolve this. If she were lying, why would she actively remind me about it?”

“Hmmm…” Mark considered that, pulled out his phone, and sent a message to Freya.

Mark: Would you mind coming to my room in the palace?

Freya: Be right there.

A minute later, Freya walked in. “Mark,” Freya said tersely. “How can I help you?”

“First, tell me what I did wrong? You are clearly not happy with me.”

“I can’t tell you that, but I am upset with you.”

“So, I did it as Mary.” Mark sighed. “Well, I’m willing to bet I feel bad about it.”

“What can I do for you?” Freya asked again.

“I was wondering something. You’ve said you watch pretty much my entire life, right?”

“Most of it, yes.”

“Can you tell me something about Sadie?”

“That… that is tricky to answer. It depends on the question.”

“Do you know if Sadie actually asked Chloe if it was okay to ask me out?”

“Mark… even if I knew that, which I’m not saying I do, I couldn’t tell you.”

“Well, it was worth a shot. Thank you, Freya. I guess Laura and I should be going now.”

“Have a productive day, you two,” Freya said, bowed, and then left.

Mark and Laura followed her out soon after to meet up with Allie and Isabella.

Sam was flying toward the ruined city of Asherland. Sadie had them pick up supplies before leaving the capital proper, and they would be dropping them off for those who lost their homes. They learned that Smug’s champions had razed the city. Rather effectively, too. Only a few stone buildings were completely untouched, with some districts little more than ash and debris now. When they reached the city, they found tents erected outside the city walls.

Sam surveyed the damage from the air. As they were slowly descending, she said, “I can’t believe the destruction they caused.”

Talia nodded. “True, but you have to remember this wasn’t a real city. Yes, it would have been monstrous if it were, but they are supposed to be playing the villains.”

As Sam landed, a group of guards approached them, led by Freya. Freya greeted them, “Hello, Heroes of Cassandra. I am Lady Freyath, Knight Captain of the Empire. We were informed you would be stopping by with supplies.”

Sadie shook her hand, “Yes, where would you like them? I have them in my spatial bag.”

“If you could follow me.” The three of them did.

“So, did Smug’s champions really cause all this damage on their own?” Sadie asked.

“Yes. I did not realize that was who they were when I cornered them, or I would have shown no mercy. Alas, they seemed to have kidnapped a young fair maiden. Next time, I will show them no mercy, and I will rescue that beauty from their clutches.”

“They kidnapped someone?” Talia asked, “Who?”

Freya had a small smile as she said, “Mary. That’s the name she told me.”

“Um… Lady Freyath… I regret to inform you, but Mary is also one of Smug’s champions.”

Freya suddenly stopped moving and looked over her shoulder. “Excuse me?”

“We are aware of who Smug’s champions are, but they do seem to be using disguises, so we can’t immediately recognize them. One of them is definitely named Mary.” Talia replied. “Were there any reports of a lion-girl, sheep-girl, vixen, bunny-girl, or horse-girl during the attack?”

“Yes… all of them.”

“Then I would assume that this Mary was also one of them, especially if you found her with the perpetrators.”

“That witch! She must have charmed me!” Freya exclaimed. “I will have her head!”

Sam snickered. “If we learn of her whereabouts, we’ll make sure to call upon you to assist.”

Soon, they were brought to a large canvas tent where supplies were being catalogued and distributed. Sadie dropped two dozen large crates, containing various basic supplies.

Sadie turned to Freya, “I wish we could do more, but we have other things to attend to.”

“Think nothing of it, Heroes. Protecting the people is my job, stopping Smug is yours. Good luck and Goddess speed.”

Talia and Sadie mounted up on Sam again. Talia had selected a series of quests that they could do while heading west. The next was to clear out a pack of monsters attracted to Asherland because of the destruction. Sam handled the task without even landing. A combination of her blanketing the nearby forest with her dragon aura to flush everything out onto the open plains on the other side, followed by Talia's time bubble, so Sam could use her breath weapon on the lot of them in an instant, making quick work of the task.

Sadie said to Talia, “I feel sort of useless here.”

Talia spoke over her shoulder, “Did you get XP for the quest?”

“Yes. I’m not sure why, though.”

“Probably passive buffs you give out. Whatever the reason, Cassandra considered you to have contributed. We know she is fine not giving XP or CP out if you didn’t do anything.”

“I guess this was a great plan, Talia. I honestly hadn’t thought about using Sam’s flight to help us speed run a half dozen quests that shouldn’t pose any real danger. What are the rest of the quests?”

“Goblin warren outside of Sparrow’s Nest is our next stop. Then we have a supply pick up that was stopped because of the destruction of Asherland, from Martini’s Martini, in Westgate. Apparently, they are donating a lot of **** for those on the front lines dealing with the Mad Cow-Girl outbreak. Apparently, they are also sending over medicine that helps prevent infection with the disease. There is a pair of trolls that attacked a hamlet near Westgate, and then a priestess of Cassandra put in a request for assistance in Harper’s Haven. Said she had a vision that it would be in danger soon.”

“That’s not ominous,” Sam spoke over the roar of the wind. “Think it is Cassandra essentially telling us that the other team is going to be there?”

“Maybe, maybe not,” Talia replied. “Could just be Cassandra being intentionally cryptic.”

“How long to Sparrow’s Next?” Sadie asked.

“Another ten minutes. I think.”

Mark, Laura, Isabella, and Allie climbed the steps to view over the top of the palisade. They were shocked by the sight before them. A sea of pink and gold. Mark transformed into a dragon and flew up, and he saw thousands of cow-girls. They were being funneled slightly south of where they had shown up on the defensive line. There was apparently a farm fifteen miles south that they had decided to lure the cow-girls to. Apparently, Mad Cow-Girls were attracted to two things. Milk and breasts. Which explained why all the soldiers at this part of the wall were male. Apparently, large concentrations of either can attract them from miles away, which is why so many towns were hit in the east.

Mark landed and transformed back. “Aubrey is going to be so pissed when she finds out about this.” Mark noticed Laura had her phone out and was taking pictures.

“Mark, you have to admit this is at least a little funny,” Allie said. “That every single one of them looks like Aubrey, with pink and white cow prints for clothing. I talked with one of the guards; apparently, they lactate strawberry milk. Careful, though, apparently it’s their weapon of choice. They try to squirt you with it to infect you.”

Mark had a little trouble hearing Allie over the din of “MOOOOOOOO!” and “MIIIIIIIIILK!”

Mark replied, “Allie, I recently found out why Aubrey really doesn’t like cows, as Cassandra showed me the replies to the fan mail, after I wrote mine. A cow chewed off her ponytail when she was younger. I could imagine that wasn’t a pleasant experience, and it wouldn’t surprise me if she was made fun of for it at school, since it was on a class field trip that it happened.”

Laura said, “You would be correct, Mark. I heard about it one time after she got drunk at a frat party. I was an alumnus at that point, but I was back in town and hit up some friends. She said it was one of the worst experiences of her life, and led to her being mocked a lot for a long time. Took going to a different high school than most of her other classmates for the issue to die.”

Allie frowned, clearly not thinking that it was as funny as before. Laura continued, “So, the guard told me while you were up there that if we want to help, it would be better if we head south, to the farm. Apparently, they got some hotshot newcomer from the arena tournament that Sam fought in yesterday.”

Mark transformed back into a dragon. “Alright, climb on.” The four sped south as they looked east; they could see the density of cow-girls increasing until it finally came to the farm. Right before they landed, they saw a woman in overalls and a straw hat charge out and throw a pitchfork out into the sea of cow-girls. It cracked like thunder when she threw it, and a wedge of cow-girls collapsed as the pitchfork returned to her hand. She pulled back to the line shortly after. Mark landed behind the line and reverted to being humanoid, and the farm girl walked up to them.

“Howdy! I reckon y'all must be the Heroes we heard tell about.”

Mark nodded, “That’s us. We’re here to try and put an end to this before it gets even more out of control.”

“Glad to hear that, Aah am. We done lost plenty of fine folks to this plague already. I don't rightly know how much help y'all are gonna be here, though. We done caught a few, but we got only one priestess who can reverse this. She can't do it many times a day, neither, and she's gotta git to the sick folks quickly. The problem, she says, is that curse from that idol that started this whole mess.” Mark felt bad about not stopping it before he remembered that all the cow-girls were likely just ASTRIDs in disguise. “Aah heard tell you were nearby but didn't come to stop it. Aah ain't blamin' y’all. As mighty bad as this is, Smug is a bigger fish to fry. We were fixin' to organize a strike team to go and fetch that idol if we can. If y'all four can take that on, we might start containin' this thing.”

“How are you holding them back? Shouldn’t there be piles of bodies?”

“Right, I was told you aren’t from around here. You don’t know about respawns. Incapacitated creatures will teleport to a safe location if left unattended while incapacitated. It’s complicated how it works exactly, but it seems that they are all teleporting near the idol.”

Mark nodded. “I need to check something.” Mark transformed into a dragon and stepped out in front of the line. He took a deep breath and spewed a massive line of acidic slime. He saw dozens of cow-girls collapse naked soon after the slime coated them. Mark returned, transformed, and addressed the farm girl. “Excuse me, Miss?

“Arnell.”

“Arnell, could I have a word with my allies here in private. Is there any place that is convenient for that?”

“That barn over yonder.” She gestured. “We’re usin’ it as storage.”

“Thanks.” Mark gestured for the others to follow him to the barn. Once inside, he made sure no one else was in there and then shut the barn door. “Okay, so we might want to contact the others.”

“Why?” Allie asked.

“Because I don’t think we should solve this. At least not without reaping the benefits first.”

“What are you talking about, Mark?” Laura questioned.

“When I used my breath weapon on the crowd, I got XP. Not enough to level, but not a negligible amount either. You saw how many of them there are. I think we should farm them for XP.”

“I like it,” Isabella said, excitedly.

“Okay, I can sort of get that,” Laura began, “But why do we need the others? They could get infected.”

“Sure, if they are on the ground, but Talia and Sadie can ride Sam in the air. Talia can create a time wall, causing a clear line for Sam to breath weapon. Same with me. Laura, you can just rain, devastation from the air. Allie and Isabella, I think you can probably just mow through them. I think we could get multiple levels out of this.”

“True, but is it more efficient than questing?” Allie asked.

“I don’t know, but it would definitely be safe.”

Laura seemed unconvinced. “I don’t know… You said you can’t do that breath weapon very often. I’m not saying I won’t rain down devastation on the way and that you shouldn’t use your breath weapon if it comes up again, but realistically, I’m the only one who can take major advantage of this. I think we just go for the idol.”

“Okay, I just wanted to give the suggestion,” Mark said with a shrug. “So, head straight for Lakeview, then?” Laura nodded.

The group went back and told Arnell they were going to try to retrieve the idol. Then flew off on Mark’s back. Laura did take Mark’s suggestion and constantly shot down lust bolts. Mark managed to get off one more breath weapon before they could see the village in the distance.

Mark stopped midair and just hovered. Isabella said, “That’s a lot of them. The stream seems almost constant. Are we sure it doesn’t make new cow-girls? Like from scratch?”

Mark shook his head. “I don’t know. I can’t really find anywhere to land on the ground, and my breath weapon won’t make a conducive landing zone since it is acidic slime.”

“We’ll just have to fly further out and land, then fight our way in,” Laura said.

Allie replied, “No. We should go in, and Mark should drop us off on the roof of the church. We can clear out an area around that, or just punch a hole in the roof and have Mark fly down and snatch the idol.”

The others agreed, and Mark attempted to do just that, but found a barrier preventing him from flying into the town. “I think that is Cassandra’s way of saying this is a no-fly zone. I don’t think this is something we are supposed to figure out a way to bypass.” Everyone grumbled, but they were able to find a place to land, though it did require Laura to incapacitate a few lone cow-girls ambling about.

They already saw the cow-girls headed their way. “Oh shit!” Allie swore, “They aren’t all slow.”

She was correct as several were approaching at a sprint. “MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!”

Allie stepped forward and swiped the first three to make it to them, knocking them to the ground. Isabella moved to finish them off.

Laura said, “Hey, guys, we seem to have attracted a lot of attention.”

Mark shrugged, “Well, we were told they were attracted to breasts, and they could sense large concentrations of breasts for miles. I would guess smaller concentrations are detectable over smaller distances. You three likely look like snacks to them.”

“Well, Isa is not on the menu!” Isabella declared. (That’s right, Mark, be impressed. Isa is awesome. I would like some headpats.)

Mark shook his head but patted Isabella between the ears. “Okay, I’m thinking we need to move hard and fast. If what Arnell said is true and incapacitated ones get teleported here, that means there won’t be an end to them.”

Laura shot another one with a series of bolts before it got close to them. “Then let's get moving,” Laura said.

The four of them moved towards the town, and it was a slog. At first, they came at them in twos and threes. By the time they were within 500 ft of the town wall, they were coming at them in tens and twenties. Mark had been swapping between being a dragon and a human. He wasn’t as effective as a dragon, as Allie or Isabella was in melee combat, but he could keep things off of Laura. He did need to swap back to top everyone up, because none of them could escape taking hits from the cow-girls shooting streams of milk at them. As they finally got near the entrance, Mark used his breath weapon to clear a large swath of the road into the town. The slime on the ground would need to dissipate before they could proceed, but the numerous replacement cow-girls made that happen rather quickly.

It was at this point that they felt some relief as it no longer felt like they were being attacked from all sides. On the other hand, Mark had gained a new fear and possibly found a new fetish. Allie had gone berserk, letting the rage overtake her. She dove into a crowd of thirty of these Aubrey lookalikes, and spectral claws enveloped her forearms as she raked through group after group. Isabella moved to clean up after Allie’s wake, with Mark and Laura primarily covering their flanks.

It took them around fifteen minutes of near constant fighting from entering the village to reach the town square, in front of the church, which was where they met the first problematic development. While they had saved the guards where they had found Bertha, those weren’t the only guards. A dozen Aubreys, clad in pink armor, wielded a variety of weapons and a shield or two.

“Guess we found the elites!” Laura shouted over, the MOOing. These twelve all had bigger breasts and seemed far more coordinated.

“MOOOOO!” the twelve shouted as they charged with dozens of regular infected.

Allie dove in without hesitation, and Laura switched to empowering every blast to the maximum, even at the increased resource drain. Laura couldn’t help but think, I wish I had something like a fireball or chain lightning spell. Which was when she leveled. She was momentarily surprised to see her wish answered, even if not exactly. She produced multiple whirlwinds of lust that created zones of continuous damage. Then she enhanced her staff and body with mana and directly engaged with the elites alongside Allie.

Isabella went to Mark. “Master, I think it’s time to use some of the stuff we got yesterday!” (Isa wants to play. Master, PLEASE!)

“No, it’s too dangerous. I can’t fly out of here. After going about ten feet off the ground, I hit a barrier. You will be utterly helpless after a few minutes.”

“We all won’t make it if one of us doesn’t use it, Master.” (I’ll do it if you won’t)

Damnit, she’s probably right. I guess we go all in then. “Fine, I’ll use both of the abilities on you, and you use the howl. If you are going to be helpless in a few minutes, a few more debuffs won’t hurt.” Isabella summoned her shadow clones and wolves. Then Mark did two things first: he pulled out a cookie, “Isa, sit!” Isabella complied instantly while her shadow clones and wolves protected the two of them. “Isa want the treat?” Isabella nodded vigorously. (OH YES, MASTER! ISA IS A GOOD GIRL AND WANTS THE TREAT!)

Mark fed her the cookie, which she happily gobbled up. Isabella felt energy swell inside of her. Then Mark said, “Isa, time to play fetch. Bring me the idol. Be a good girl and bring me the idol. Go!” At Mark’s words, Isabella let out the howl, and she and the shadows moved in unison, tearing through those standing in her way. They didn’t stop to help with the elites, but they did take out two as they were pushing through and entered the church. The decrease in regular cow-girls and two downed Elites gave Allie and Laura some breathing room, though. Mark rushed over and smacked Laura on the ass. “Good job! Keep it up.” Laura felt her health and mana slightly restored. “We are on the clock now. If you have anything, now is the time. In less than three minutes, Isabella is going to be a helpless puppy.

“I do have one thing, but it’s sort of embarrassing! Also, it will be the last time I can use it this round. Not sure now is the time!” Laura shouted to be heard over the MOOing. “AH! DAMNIT!” Laura had just been hit right in the eyes with several blasts of milk.

A moment later, Isabella came flying out of the church entrance and crashed into the fountain. Out of the church stepped an Aubrey in near identical equipment to what Aubrey was wearing at the beginning of the LARP. She cracked her neck and let out a “MOOOOOOOOOO!” As she charged for the prone Isabella. Mark saw that Isabella had the idol in her arms. There were only three shadows left, and they were buying Isabella time to stand a run.

Laura shouted to Mark, “Get the idol and Isabella out of here!” Then to Allie, “ALLIE, WE ARE DOING A FIGHTING RETREAT!” Isabella was weaving through the battle towards them, but the boss cow was headed their way, having dispatched the shadows. Luckily, Allie and Laura had decreased the number of elites to two. Allie didn’t seem to be in a state of mind to understand. “Shit! MARK! ALLIE WON’T LISTEN!”

Mark transformed into a dragon, expanding in size, and cleared a path for Isabella the best he could. Then he shouted. “ALLIE, I’M ORDERING YOU TO RETREAT!”

Allie physically lurched as the collar she was wearing took over her. It knocked her out of her rage for a moment, and she found herself moving towards the exit of town. Once she realized what had just happened, Allie was pissed but also grateful that Mark **** her actions. She used that to fuel her rage again and pounced on the boss, Aubrey, as she retreated.

Isabella had nearly reached Mark and Laura when she stopped and crouched down in fear with her tail tucked. Laura ran over and scooped her up, climbing on Mark’s back.

Mark shouted, “ALLIE WE’RE LEAVING NOW! GET ON MY BACK THIS INSTANT!”

Allie had **** but to comply and took a serious hit when disengaging.

Mark flew as fast as he could out of the city proper, the second Allie was on his back. He knew he couldn’t go up, but flying was still faster than running. The boss Aubrey, didn’t seem to be stopping, but she simply couldn’t keep up. He kept going for a while, but after about thirty minutes needed to rest. Luckily, the density of cow-girls this far north seemed very sparse, but one or two were coming their way. Isabella’s own side effects of being like a puppy had worn off, but she was sleeping in Laura’s arms because of the treat Mark had given her. Mark lay down on his back to rest.

Laura laid Isabella on the ground next to Mark and passed Mark the idol. “She’s going to be like that for another three to four hours, right?”

“Yeah. That’s the downside to the biscuit. Fetch just makes her unable to focus on anything but the target of Fetch, but it makes her four times as fast. The buff lasts for five minutes, but even after the speed boost wears off, she has another fifteen minutes of fixation.”

Laura shot several bolts at a rapidly approaching cow-girl. “I think they are drawn to the idol.”

“You’re probably right.” Mark agreed, as he put it in his rucksack. Mark pulled out the task description and found that it had been updated. Mark read aloud, “Bring the idol to a priestess of Cassandra for purification. I say we head back to the capital and take it to the cathedral.”

Allie nodded. “Agreed. Shame we didn’t get the boss.”

“We’re lucky we didn’t have an incapacitation.” Laura said, “Screw the boss. Once the idol has been purified, they should start being able to reverse the effects and handle this without us. Hey Mark, how risky was this task?”

“High, which in theory is four people. Though it is possible we were supposed to recruit some help and not simply fly all the way there.”

They heard a chorus of MOOOOOOs off in the distance, clearly getting louder.

Laura asked, “Mark, I hope you got enough rest, because we have a herd behind us.”

“Yeah, I should be fine now. I’m just not used to the speed or flying. Luckily, I copied your endurance, too.” Mark transformed back into a dragon, Laura picked up Isabella, and she and Allie climbed onto Mark. Shortly, they were flying off towards the capital, seeing a herd of Aubreys off in the distance coming towards them. Mark thought he noticed the boss Aubrey, at the front of the herd.
