Background:

Lux is the daughter of a human innkeeper who was left pregnant after a fling with a travelling tiefling bard, who never came back again. Lux’s small horns are just about possible to hide when necessary, less so her skin, which is an unnatural marble-white. Although she had a good life growing up, all things considered, and has some recognition of her mother’s success in the face of difficulty, she couldn’t stand the idea of staying to work at an inn (especially since most of the people she had to serve seemed to see her either as an object of lust or a hell-spawned abomination) and, once she started to roam around a bit, found that she fit in better with the travelling adventurer community than she did anywhere else.

Information for Nerds

Lux is my character, originally from a Pathfinder campaign, but we also crossed over into D&D a bit. In Pathfinder, she’s a tiefling Eldritch Scion. In D&D, she’s been both a reskinned warlock and a homebrew modified Arcane Trickster.

Although Lux is originally a Pathfinder and D&D character, I’m doing this “freeform” to keep things simple, using One Page Solo Engine’s own oracle for all checks. Lux is “likely” to succeed at things that involve guile, agility and magical trickery, “even” to succeed at things that involve knowledge and willpower, and “unlikely” to succeed at things that rely on pure physical strength. Some other challenges will be handled through the “how much” question, if it seems that something bad is going to happen no matter what.

One Page Solo Engine gives very general prompts that require a lot of interpretation. Given where we are, I’ll generally be interpreting these in a way that leads to Lux getting into various sticky situations (or sticky situations getting into her). To avoid things being over too quickly, Lux will have a little bit of plot armour that protects her from the worst consequences of failing important checks… but each time this happens, she’ll gain a point of Doom. As long as the Doom counter is less than 3, Lux will tend to fail forwards, through skill or dumb luck. When Doom gets to 3, fate will no longer conspire to protect her from unwanted consequences, and Lux is most likely – you guessed it – doomed.

Information for Perverts

In our games, Lux always had a knack for getting herself into compromising situations (being captured by evil slavers, swallowed by slimy monsters, losing her armour, etc.), which became a bit of a running joke in our campaigns. These stories aren’t based on things that happened in those games exactly, but are inspired by the general themes of peril, submission, loss of agency, and so on.

Lux has white (unnaturally so) skin, black hair, short curved horns, and pale red eyes. She’s a little over five feet tall with a curvy, hourglass figure. She’s blessed or cursed with a particularly large chest.*

Lux will usually be wearing a tight-fitting outfit involving a low-cut corset top. She does have some sensible leather armour, but she has to bind up her chest tightly to wear it, so she doesn’t bother with it when just travelling or if she’s not expecting a fight. Of course, even if she is wearing it, it’s going to come off pretty easily when the “plot” demands…

*Lux’s boobs started out with another in-joke due to a Pathfinder fan supplement that had rules for breast sizes. According to those rules, the combination of Lux’s character class and ability scores would give her the biggest boobs in existence.
