Lux’s ending: Level drained

Lux’s next re-awakening is, at least, in more comfortable surroundings. She learns that days have gone past since she destroyed the outcasts’ device, creating enough chaos for Atara and her allies to regain control of the complex. The Great Machine ticks away once more, and all is right with the underground world.

Lux isn’t sure if things will ever be right in her own world again. Everything that happened is muddled in her memory, obscured by mental fog. Atara has lent her tireless aid, even glimmers of kindness, tending to her until she is well enough to make the journey back to Eldborough.

But the whole experience has taken a heavy toll. Even after extensive rest, Lux still feels as weak as a kitten. Her magic is there, but it takes so much effort to do things that were once second nature.

It might take months or years for her body and mind to get back where they were – if that ever happens. She runs her fingers through her hair, tracing the shock of premature white that now runs through it. A visible sign of the price she’s had to pay to survive.
