Lunchtime

As your Aunt Sadie and Harmony began talked rather busily amongst themselves while eating lunch you only smiled as you watched them before your Aunt spoke. “Aren’t you hungry Nathan? Harmony told me you skipped breakfast this morning so you could set up something with your company and haven’t eaten at all today.” she said concern in her voice in response you only smiled before reaching inside your vest to withdraw the black book from the void setting it down on the table.

“I had lunch with mom Aunt Sadie her jambalaya was everything you said it was and more although you never mentioned she had fried shrimp in it as well. You started off. The clang of silverware hitting the table silenced Harmony the only sounds being the train as it continued moving forward.

“You saw her your mother Nathan? When where we can go right now its-” You raised your hand nodding your head before taking your aunt’s hands in your hands as she began looking at her hands and your face confused. “My mom your sister she is alive but she is a reaper of the dark one and she can’t leave his realm outside of her work for him.” Your Aunt began to cry her hands shaking in yours with Harmony reading the room she simply nodded to you before moving to your office car leaving the two of you alone.

You sighed before releasing your aunt’s hands speaking. “Mom said I got sick really sick that she and dad tried everything possible to cure me with no success and I was going to die.” Your Aunt only held her breathe as she heard these words. “But then the Dark One made a deal seal away two dangerous spirits and mom serves as one of his reapers and I will get his blessing along with being cured of my affliction. I am sure you can then guess what happened from there the two spirits were sealed inside of my father and myself and mom well she serves the Dark One right now.”

Your Aunt only cried harder in the train booth across from you. Standing up wrapped your aunt in a hug holding her as she poured out her tears of sorrow. Soon enough your aunt stopped her crying before looking up at you she managed a small smile. “While I miss my sister she is alive and that is all I can ask for at this moment Nathan I need to think about this more however so if you wouldn’t mind.” You only nodded taking the book before heading back to your office.

Entering it you saw Harmony sitting down in one of your comfy chairs her fingers twirling one of the many numerous blond curls she had styled her hair up in today for the trip. She stood up as you entered walking over to you before wrapping you in a hug. “Did something happen while you were in here its only been 10 minutes since we left but knowing you I am correct in guessing you used time dilation and did something love?” Harmony said as she rested her head on your shoulder.

“You could say something like that sweetie.” You said with a smile. “But thats not the important thing right now I want know whats going on with you I know I haven’t spent a lot of time with you being busy and all so I though I should check on you.”
