Lunch

"Chrissie" says Maggie sitting down next to her friend and placing her hand on the bone. Heidi is, thankfully, at cheer-squad practice and so won't have to 'remember something she forgot'.

"Yes?" says Chrissie.

"Tell me the truth. You know how Heidi's all attracted to older men."

"Sure"

"How would you feel about your dad and her getting together"

"Oh Gross. I don't want to think about my dad and mum doing it, even though I'm proof they did. Dad and Heidi? There is not enough eww in the universe..."

"New question. How do you think your dad would feel about getting together with Heidi?"

"He'd be stoked. He's been so lonely since mum left. I keep trying to tell him he need to date but mum left him a wreck. He doesn't think he's attractive to women anymore."

"But Heidi's all over him when we come to your house"

"He thinks that either she doesn't realise what 'signals' she's sending out, that she's 'practicing' on him because she thinks 'he's safe' or, when he's in a really low point, that she's a bitch whose playing with him by pretending he, an ugly old man, has a chance with her."

"She'd never…"

"Oh he know that, but like I said, my mega-bitch of a mother really hurt him and sometimes he lashes out at people. Never at me, mind you, but my friends, his, he and mum's old mutual friends especially. All fair game."

"Man, that's harsh. So do you seriously think realizing that Heidi is serious would help?"

"As much as it grosses me out it probably would."

Maggie touches the bone again. "Forget I asked you about your dad and Heidi. However now the idea of them getting together doesn't gross you out. You think it'd be the best thing for both of them. He would realize that women, even young hot school-girls like Heidi, find him attractive and might get out of his funk and she'd get to live out the fantasy she's had for so long and stop talking about it. Not that she'll stop flirting with teachers, I mean that's one reason we love her, but she might be subtler about it once she's 'a woman'".

Chrissie smiles.

"So what do you want to talk about?" she asks.

"How about Heidi and I come over to your place after school and help you get ready for your date?" asked Maggie

"That's a great idea, have you asked Heidi?"

"Oh you know she'll be into it. Your dad'll be home right?"

"Oh yes" said Chrissie smiling wickedly.
